I work at the reception of a small hotel. I didn't study about it, but it so happened that I started here supposedly temporarily, but the temporary one turned out to be 8 years. In a nutshell, I realized that although I had studied something completely different, my future was related to working in tourism. And quite normally, after a few years, I hinted to the bosses that it was time for a promotion. Well, they got away with explaining that I hadn't finished hiking, and I kept quiet. However, I recently discovered that I don't need to enroll in a whole new college degree, I just need to complete a Hotel Administrator course. I plan to sign up and I shared this with my boss. I have not said a word about promotion, on the contrary. I told her that I could learn something useful in the course to implement in the work. In addition, I will pay for the course myself and it will be outside working hours, ie I do not harm my bosses in any way. And yet the boss reacted negatively. What was this course for me, I've been doing this for 8 years, they wouldn't teach me anything new, and they wouldn't take me to a big hotel without a degree in tourism ... he did everything possible to make me hesitate. I also talked to people close to me and everyone thinks that my boss reacted like that because she realizes that with a diploma and years of experience I have a great chance to leave her and look for a better paid place, but if she cares so much about me, why not show it by raising my salary? He both keeps me on a ridiculous salary and does everything possible to stop me from developing. I do not understand. In the end, if I do not leave, I will certainly learn something in this course that will be useful to me in my work and will be useful for her and her business. They keep muttering that the staff is not qualified enough. E, and I don't even expect her to pay for my qualification. Then? Why does he react like that?

Leave immediately, safe from such 'bosses'. Don't let them make fun of you, because that's exactly what's happening.
