Zhanyl Asanbekova

Zhanyl Asanbekova is a Russian actress, known to viewers primarily for her role as Ainura in the comedy sitcom Kitchen.

She was born in August 1967 in the small Kyrgyz village of Darkhan, located near Lake Issyk-Kul. Zhanyl and her brother were raised by their grandparents. From an early age, the girl loved to sing and dance, she was an activist at school and participated in all the events.

Like many children of Kyrgyzstan, Zhanyl began to work early: she took turns with her brother herding flocks of sheep. In order to somehow entertain herself in the pasture, she sang songs from Indian films from morning till night or arranged an impromptu theater of one actor.

Sometimes her friends came running to look at a talented friend, who praised the girl's secret dream of becoming an actress. Fate made it possible for Zhanyl Asanbekova to fulfill this desire.

In 1989, she entered the Shchepkin Higher Theater School by regional recruitment, having passed a huge competition. The actress recalls that the third round of selection was the most difficult for her, when applicants were asked to go to the examiners in swimsuits. It was a real shock for a Kyrgyz girl.

After the commission announced that Zhanyl had become a student, her grandmother suddenly refused to let her go to Moscow. The most respected leaders of the collective farm had to intervene, who managed to convince the elderly woman that the prospect that opened up for her granddaughter was a rare chance.

Having perfectly studied in "Sliver" and even after graduating from graduate school, Asanbekova hid her diploma as an actress for a long time. She led the life of a housewife, although at every opportunity she actively participated in the arrangement of concerts, especially national ones. For example, she was one of the organizers of the anniversary evening of Chingiz Aitmatov.

Zhanyl Asanbekova was invited to act in films before, but family circumstances developed in such a way that she could not get to the final casting at the right time. This happened, for example, with the proposal of the director's team of the film "Nomad" and some other films.

Therefore, it so happened that the debut of the actress on the screen took place only at the age of 45, but the whole country immediately learned about her. In the comedy television series "Kitchen", Zhanyl Asanbekova effectively played Ainuru, a native of Beshkek, who is putting things in order in the restaurant.

The actress says that despite a huge break in her professional activities, she easily joined the team, since a friendly atmosphere reigns on the set of the series. Asanbekova even gave a little hint to the scriptwriters when they confused the nationality of some of her character's statements.

The first season of "Kitchen" was released in 2012, and the final 6th season started in February 2016. Zhanyl also took part in the full-length version of the sitcom "Kitchen in Paris".

After the tremendous success of "Kitchen", Asanbekova was invited to other projects. She took part in the filming of the Ukrainian multi-part action movie "Together Forever", then played in the youth TV series "Angelica" and the romantic comedy "I Will Get Married". The last work of Zhanyl, apart from the final season of the beloved "Kitchen", was a dramatic role in the film "Wake me up" by the French director Guillaume Protsenko.

While studying in the second year of the theater university, Zhanyl Asanbekova met her fellow countryman Taalay, who at that time was a student at the forestry institute. After 2 years they got married, they had a son, Timerlan, and a daughter, Jasmine. Both children have a craving for creativity. Timerlan discovered his talent as an artist as a child and was even awarded the Zurab Tsereteli Prize as a gifted child. Growing up, he decided to become an architect.

The daughter finishes school and dreams of getting into a film studio, however, as a make-up artist. The family lives in their own house in the Moscow region, but in the summer they always leave for the shores of their native Issyk-Kul.

Zhanyl Asanbekova has a dream - she would like to open a national Kyrgyz theater in Moscow. In the meantime, she sings and records folk songs in the Kyrgyz language, she plans to release a CD with these recordings. For many years, Zhanyl was engaged in Kyokushinkai karate, but in 2009 she left this sport, although she still retained a desire to return.
