His father was called to the front, where he became a translator and reached Berlin, and Yuri with his mother and grandfather went to evacuation to the city of Orenburg.

In the new place, the Entin family had to live among the Tatars who did not speak Russian, so Yuri quickly learned the local dialect. Since the artists of the Kirov Theater and the circus from Leningrad were housed in the city, little Yura met the metropolitan stars, among whom was the clown Pencil.

After reading a book about the fate of Leon Trotsky in high school, in his youth he became seriously interested in history and tried to enter Moscow University, where, however, Jews were not accepted under any circumstances. As a result, the poet entered another educational institution, began to study history and even married the granddaughter of Nikolai Krylenko, a colleague of Vladimir Lenin. After spending many years of his life in the archives studying documents, over time the poet realized that his interest in history was satisfied and was gradually subsiding.

Later, after a year of work in a secondary school, Yuri went to receive a second higher education at the Printing Institute at the Editing Faculty. After graduation, he became an employee of the Moscow printing house, first as a proofreader, and gradually rose to the position of editor-in-chief.

Young Yuri Entin wrote his first poems in adolescence, while in the hospital after removing appendicitis - then a young nurse became a muse, and the theme was delight in how sometimes in dark moments in life you can feel infinitely good.

However, having devoted years to studying history, Yuri Entin returned to poetry only at the age of 33. At this age, he begins to seriously engage in writing poetry and songs. In 1962, Yuri got a job as an editor for the children's edition of the Melodiya firm.

While on the set of the film "Ilyich's Outpost", which took place at the Polytechnic Institute, Yuri Entin got to a concert of Soviet poets Andrei Voznesensky, Yevgeny Yevtushenko and Bella Akhmadulina. When Marlen Khutsiev, the director of the film, offered to read poetry from the stage to anyone from the audience, Yuri Entin volunteered. The young man with a slight smile on his face presented poetic parodies of poetry that he had just heard from the lips of the sixties.

The audience appreciated Yuri's talent. Among the audience was the composer Gennady Gladkov. He offered the young man cooperation. It was at this time that the composer, together with the actor, director and screenwriter Vasily Livanov, was working on a new project. As the poet admits, this became a sure sign that his song instantly turned into a hit, and for the author there is no greater reward than the recognition of the people in any form and manifestation.

As for criticism, the matter was more complicated. Many of Entin's compositions were considered harmful, publication and production were delayed, even harmless songs had to be defended "Oh, the guards rise early!" and "Chunga-Changa". A number of works managed to be released despite criticism, the rest were postponed on the back burner or altered.

Over the years, interesting facts have surfaced about the history of the creation of some of Entin's masterpieces. For example, it turned out that the image of the Princess from "The Bremen Town Musicians" was copied from the second wife of Yuri - Marina. A short red dress on the heroine repeated the wedding French dress of the poet's wife. The prototype of Atamansha was the wife of director Vyacheslav Kotenochkin.

During the preparation of this animated musical, entertaining incidents occurred, which were subsequently retold to friends as anecdotes.
