Yaroslav Vladimirovich Rakitsky was born on August 3, 1989 in Pershotravensk, Ukraine. My mother was a teacher, my father worked in a mine. Rakitsky's interest in sports was instilled by his uncle and grandfather, who played football at an amateur level. From the age of 6, the boy studied in the section under the direction of Pavel Dulinov, but soon moved to the academy at the Shakhtar club.

In 2009, the footballer married his beloved, whom he had met for 4 years before the wedding. Soon the couple had a daughter, Yaroslav, and then a son, Artem. The young footballer's career began in 2006, when he was admitted to Shakhtar-3. In the second league, Yaroslav played for the first time as a defender during a meeting against the Sumy team. He played 31 games for the club and scored 4 goals.

Representatives of such teams as Juventus, Arsenal and Barcelona drew attention to the promising player, but the transfer did not take place, since Yaroslav remained faithful to his native Shakhtar. The footballer fell in love with Donetsk and was disappointed when the team's players had to move after the start of the conflict with Russia. He refused to sing the anthem of Ukraine. Despite the thoughts about the transition, the athlete retained the status of the leader of the Pitmen's team.

A new stage in the biography of Rakitsky was the transition to the St. Petersburg club "Zenith", where he was offered a salary of € 2.5 million per year.
