You may have developed strabismus (squinting) due to the diopter, especially if it is very large and if it is different between the two eyes. Go to an eye doctor, but my advice is to try the so-called vision therapy before you decide to have surgery. There are not many materials in Bulgarian, so you will have to read in English (for example, look for "vision therapy strabismus", these are just exercises). I have had (and still have) squint since I was 3 years old. At 5 I had an operation and one of my muscles was shortened. Since then, my left eye can't walk all the way to the right, but when I look ahead, both eyes look at approximately the same point. I emphasize approximately, because to others I look normal, but I see double (diplopia). I have been seeing double for 25 years and more. It can be said that I am almost completely adapted to de - driving, playing sports games, etc. even in this state, but certainly all this is much more difficult for me than for a normal person with normal vision. The idea to recommend visual therapy before a possible operation is that the operation will change your eye muscles forever and then there will be no change. With the help of visual therapy I manage to collect the images from both eyes at times, but it is obvious that my left eye is struggling a lot, probably because of the shortened muscle.
