Vladimir was born on February 16, 1990 in Yekaterinburg into a family of medical workers. When the young karateka had already begun to show good results, he wanted to master new knowledge and practices in martial arts, for example, masterly master the technique of blows to the head. Boxing gave such opportunities, and Volodya decided that he would change his profile. Evgeny Vasilievich introduced the protégé to a colleague, Vladimir Merchin, who a year later led the guy to victory in the Russian K-1 (Japanese kickboxing) championship.

The rating of the sports victories of the fighter begins in 2008, when Mineev became the champion of Russia in kickboxing. In the same year, as part of the national team, he won gold at the European Championship in Portugal WAKO-2008. A year later, at the 2009 WAKO World Championships, he barely reached an absolute victory and won a silver medal.
