Nigative is the stage name of the Russian rap artist Vladimir Afanasyev, a talented and versatile person. He managed to prove himself as a member of musical groups and as a successful solo performer. Thanks to the acting talent shown in the videos, he got into the cinema, and his passion for literature grew into the publication of his own book.

Vladimir Afanasyev was born on December 4, 1981 in the Krasnodar Territory, in the village of Uspenskaya. He comes from an educated and creative family: his father is an artist, and his mother teaches mathematics. The boy roughly went to school and graduated with a medal. Vladimir was always attracted by the exact sciences, so he entered the technical institute at the faculty of quantum electronics.

As a child, for 10 years, Afanasyev was a member of the Cossack choir. He remembers this part of his life with invariable warmth and gratitude. Then he also mastered playing the button accordion, trumpet, guitar and balalaika, however, by the musician's own admission, he did not master any instrument properly.

The future performer became interested in rap in high school, and wrote the first songs in this genre in the 90s. After graduation, Vladimir changed several jobs (at one time he even worked at an aerospace agency), but in 1997 he decided to take up creative work professionally.

Teaming up with an old friend, Afanasyev created the Triple V group and began to perform in front of the public little by little. Then he and his friends wrote songs in English, considering it more modern and interesting. In 1998, the young team teamed up with the Krasnodar rapper Skato and took the name BDX, but the cooperation did not work out: the guys did not find a common language and parted after the first concert in the new line-up.

The pseudonym Nigative was coined back in his student days. Friends called the musician a Negro because of his love for black clothes. When Vladimir once again came to the exam in a dark suit, a friend told him that he looked like a negative of a photograph. Over time, the nickname grew into a stage name, spelling through "and" goes back to the English word "nigga".

In the early 2000s, Vladimir was invited to the "Triada" team. Participation in it brought the musician his first resounding success. The group released their debut album in 2003 with a circulation of only 10 copies, but after performing at the Rap Music festival, they were noticed by representatives of the record companies. The musicians were offered a 3-year contract with the Karavan Music label, and the next album, "Antidote", went to a wider audience. The video for the song "Dead City" hit MTV rotation.

The strong point of the "Triad" critics considered the philosophical nature of the songs, thanks to which the group formed a specific audience. In total, the group's discography included 6 full-length albums, the best of which is considered "Orion" released in 2005.

Solo career Nigative was engaged in simultaneously with work in a group. His debut album was called "Dew Point", and he called his work "rap and blues". The second collection "Point of Support" was published in 2 parts - "Black Volume" and "White". In 2006, the Rap.ru site included Afanasyev in the rating of the 10 best rappers in Russia.

After 4 years, Vladimir shoots the first video for the song "Understood". Fans appreciated his acting skills and advised him to try himself in films. The first role of the rapper was an unnamed tractor driver in an episode of the series "Archer", aired on Channel One. In 2014, Nigativ was included in the jury for the Pit Bull Battle project, where young rap singers presented their music.

In 2018, Nigative appeared in the episode "Real Boys" and played very convincingly, being able to portray even the specific dialect of the character. On the set, he made friends with the actors and later invited Zoya Berber to take part in the filming of the video for the new hit "Weightlessness".

In April 2018, "Triad" announced its breakup, explaining that its members have already grown into independent creative personalities who want to go their own way. From that moment on, a new stage in the biography of Nigativa begins - work as part of the Barada group. According to the rapper, with the collapse of the Triad, nothing has changed in his life, except that there is more time for personal projects.

Vladimir is married, his wife's name is Svetlana. Together they raise their daughter Alice.

In an interview, the musician admitted that he is passionate about reading, especially classical literature. From Russian writers he prefers Pushkin and Chekhov, from foreign - Shakespeare and Edgar Poe.

In 2010, he wrote and published his own book "Astrological Court" - a detective novel with elements of mysticism, now working on a sequel. According to Afanasyev's idea, this will be a whole series, which he plans to post on the Internet.
