Biography
Vadim Samoilov is the founder of the cult musical group Agatha Christie and its sound producer, singer, rock musician, composer and poet.
Musician Vadim Samoilov, the eldest of two famous brothers, was born on October 3, 1964 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). The father of the future star worked as an engineer, and his mother was a doctor. The difference with his brother Gleb (born in 1970) is 6 years. Later, the parents moved to Asbest (Sverdlovsk region).
In one interview, Vadim calls himself a "musician by vocation", not imagining life without music. As a result, it becomes the most important for him. Samoilov does not like to remember his childhood years too much. It is known that leadership abilities, along with musical ones, were manifested in him in kindergarten, where he invariably acted as an organizer of games.
As for music, Vadim fell in love with it at an early age. The boy loved to hum and listen to melodies. He picked up the first song at the age of 5 on the piano while visiting. It was a melody from the film "Property of the Republic".
At the age of 7, at the insistence of his mother, he entered a music school. There he was best given solfeggio, and he disliked subjects like "music literature" for their edification.
Vadim began to create his own music, studying in the third grade, something meaningful appeared in the fifth or sixth. In the same period, there was an acquaintance with Sasha Kozlov, playing in an ensemble and rehearsals in the Komsomol committee. The memory of that period is captured in the song "Hurricane". Foreign hits were also recorded in English, for example, "The Beatles", "Deep Purple", "Pink Floyd", etc. The future musician has never been a fan of English rock and roll. Favorite groups include Urfin Juice and Nautilus Pompilius.
Vadim Samoilov graduated from the Ural Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Design and Production of Radio Equipment. The knowledge gained was used more than once in the future at the recording studio. Since 1983 he has been acting as a fighter of the MTR "Impulse".
In 1983-1986 he became a laureate of festivals dedicated to amateur songs. In 1986-1987 he performed songs within the KVN.
fact
Music
Vadim Samoilov is known primarily as one of the founders, producers and musicians of the famous Agatha Christie group. It began with the creation of the VIA "RTF-UPI" group in 1985 for student performances. The collective was founded by Vadim Samoilov, Alexander Kozlov and Peter May. Having fulfilled its original purpose, it did not disintegrate. This was the first step towards the creation of the modern "Agatha Christie".
In 1987, Vadim invited his younger brother Gleb to the Agatha Christie group. He himself becomes a permanent member of the collective, performing numerous functions in it: vocalist, sound engineer, arranger, sound producer, composer. The development and popularity of the group is largely due to his merit.
The main goal of Vadim Samoilov and the group was to "play their own music." The audience's enthusiasm helped to restore and continue the group's activities: “Come on, come on!”. Agatha Christie was afraid to become another fashion group for one season. All efforts were thrown into the recording of the album "Hurricane" (1996), it was necessary to "turn inside out".
The collective, which existed for over 20 years, managed to release 10 albums, 5 collections and 18 clips. The first wave of popularity sparked fear. Many accused the group members of using narcotic allusions (hints). And the lines were interpreted by the audience in different ways. But this special worldview was to Vadim's liking.
The peak of popularity came with Agatha Christie in the 1990s. The gold line-up of the Agatha Christie group is Agatha with the participation of the Samoilov brothers, Alexander Kozlov and Andrey Kotov (1990-2001). Over time, Gleb Samoilov began to write more lyrics for songs.
Despite the termination of the activities of the group "Agatha Christie", the number of its fans does not decrease. Listeners of the radio station "Our Radio" included 5 of the group's hits in the Top-100 of the best songs of Russian rock.
In 2006, Vadim Samoilov created a charity project "Hero of Our Time" to help novice musicians. Since 2007, a new round of Samoilov's biography begins, the musician becomes a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and fights against the problem of plagiarism and piracy. Serves as a member of the Authors 'Council of the Russian Authors' Society.
In 2012, he was officially registered as a confidant of Vladimir Putin, who ran for the presidency.
Samoilov's scandalous lawsuit in the amount of 1 million rubles against the music critic Artemy Troitsky for compensation for moral damage is indicative. The reason for the conflict was the journalist's quote from the film on REN TV "Notes of Protest" that the musician is nothing more than a "trained poodle under Surkov," a politician and author of "sovereign democracy", who simply set the official's poems to music. The claim was dismissed and then reopened.
Along with the Agatha Christie group, Samoilov participates in other projects. In 1994 he was the arranger of the album "Titanic" by the group "Nautilus Pompilius" and Vyacheslav Butusov. Samoilov Sr. produces popular rock bands, for example, Semantic Hallucinations, and solo performers, including Yulia Chicherina.
In 2004, a joint album of Vadim Samoilov and the Piknik group was released. He wrote the soundtrack to the film by Alexei Balabanov "It Doesn't Hurt" with Renata Litvinova in the title role. In 2010, Vadim appeared at the “Songs for Alla” concert, where, together with Masha Makarova, he sang Igor Nikolaev's hit “Tell, Birds”.
The solo album of Samoilov Sr. was released in 2003 and was called "Peninsula". Since 2006, fans have had the opportunity to listen to Peninsula-2. Vadim tried his hand as a radio host. The musician became the voice of the Rocklab on Nash program.
In 2015, Vadim Samoilov visited Donbass with concerts, and soon visited Syria. Gleb Samoilov, whose political views do not coincide with the preferences of his brother, was outraged by the use of his name (it was also indicated) on concert posters. In addition, after the "nostalgic" tour, Vadim did not pay part of the money owed to Gleb. A quarrel broke out between the brothers, which finally ruined the relationship between them. Due to financial disagreements, the court sided with Gleb, but when he demanded from Vadim through the court not to use songs in solo concerts, the authorship of which belonged to him, the judge rejected the request.
An interview with Gleb appeared in the media, where he expressed outrage at the fact that his songs were played at pro-Kremlin events. In response, Vadim promised to sue his brother for incitements to extremism, which, in his opinion, are heard in the songs of Gleb Samoilov's The Matrixx. This accusation threatened the younger brother with a real term. To reconcile the sons, their mother posted a video message on the Internet.
In November 2016, Vadim Samoilov presented on the VKontakte social network versions of the old unreleased songs “Drafts for Agatha” in different arrangements with the texts that had been changed. You can often see the sale of tickets for his performances in major cities.
In general, the musical activity of Vadim Samoilov and other musicians of the Agatha Christie group continues, since music, in their words, is “opium”. They record music of different styles and directions, in other words, each has found his own optimal creative path.

Personal life
In the late 90s, Vadim met with model Nastya Kruchinina. Their joint photos are found on social networks. But the musician did not have a relationship with this girl.
At the moment, Vadim Samoilov is married for the second time and is happy in this union. Julia's wife is much younger than the musician; the singer met her during a concert in 2003. The girl completely turned his worldview.
In the wedding photo, the newlyweds look extravagant, and the bride even preferred a casual outfit in casual jeans to a white dress.
Yana's daughter, born in her first marriage, lives with her mother in Yekaterinburg.
Vadim Samoilov's height is 175 cm, while the weight is always slightly above average, the musician is not thin. As for his hobbies, Vadim Samoilov was previously fond of reading science fiction by Stanislav Lem, the Strugatsky brothers, Mikhail Bulgakov. The musician was impressed by the film "Poisoned Blood" (France).
Vadim is open to communication with fans and reporters, he maintains an account on Instagram, the musician has an official website. In an interview, Samoilov talks in detail about creative projects, but does not touch on the topic of his personal life.
