Biography
Canadian Torrance Coombs has been practicing the performing arts since childhood. He began by joining his school choir, then performed in the musical Cats , before being admitted to the theater company at the University of British Columbia. He first appears on television in Supernatural, the fantasy series starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Thanks to his experience on the boards, he quickly becomes one of the main characters of Jpod, on the misadventures of the staff of Neotronic Arts, specializing in the making of video games. Here he plays John Doe, a hard-working young adult raised in a lesbian community.
After a feature in Battlestar Galactica, Torrance Coombs gets a role in the historical drama The Tudors. In the guise of Thomas Culpepper, he is a courtier of King Henry VIII, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. At the same time, he dons the costume of Chase Powers, an arrogant horse trainer, in Heartland. The actor is rare in the cinema, even if he intervenes in some feature films, like Afghan Luke and Liars All. In 2011, he was selected to shoot in the fiction Endgame. But the program does not find its audience and is canceled at the end of the first season. Despite this failure, the CW called on Torrance Coombs for the role of Sebastien Bash, in the teen-drama Reign. He is here the illegitimate son of the sovereign of France and his favorite, Diane de Poitiers.
