To Be Or Not To Be (with Him)

Two months ago, I began to notice that I was feeling something different for a classmate. We are not close to him, but one day we started writing and getting to know each other more and more. There is one in the chat, another at school, and when we see each other somewhere it is completely different again. At school, he pretends we don't know each other at all and doesn't even greet. We've been in the same class for two years and until he wrote to me we were like strangers. While we were writing, he told me that he had fallen for one of our classmates, who had rejected him several times. Shortly afterwards, we talked about a loved one who was having problems with his girlfriend, and He suggested that I tell my loved one to write to another girl so that he would not think about his girlfriend. I'm not sure about my feelings for him, and this incident raised questions about whether he just wasn't using me. I wrote to him about a week ago, impatient, to ask him what we were, to which he replied that if I wanted to, we could be more than friends. We met the next day and he told me he liked me.
