For Tyril Ekhoff stretches a trail of recognition of one of the most beautiful, positive and radiant biathletes. On the page in "Instagram" hardly there is a photo where the girl is not smiling. The Norwegian started her international sports career only in 2011, and she cannot boast of the stability of her performances yet. And what is not happy, is that Tyril - another member of the national team of Norway, "suffering" asthma.

In Norway, the intricate administrative division: the birthplace of Tyril Kampenheug Eckhoff is the formation of the third level - the commune of Berm, part of the district of Akershus. The athlete was born in May 1990, of course, in a family traditionally fond of winter sports. 

Biathlon biography of his older brother Stian goes 10 years, he is a world champion in the relay and a world champion among military personnel. He is now a member of the coaching staff of the Norwegian national team. Sister Kaia was also engaged in biathlon. By the way, in close friends she had Emil Hegle Svendsen, also the owner of a solid list of achievements.

Tyril joined the ranks of shooting skiers, following the example of his brother and sister. She preferred biathlon, as the usual ski races consider a boring view because of the interval start, from the beginning and right up to the finish line.

Tyril graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in engineering. In 2008 she got into the national team.

For the first time Tyril tried her hand at the sport of high achievements at the World Junior Championships, in 2011 in the Czech Republic was among the favorites, but did not achieve much success there.

Another attempt was the European Championship in Estonia in 2010, in the junior category. The experience was successful - two bronze and one gold medal. In the same year, at the first World War Games, Eeckhoff won the 15 km patrol race.

At the World Cup, the Norwegian made her debut in the last stage, finished 46th in the pursuit race, 50th in the sprint and did not record a single point. The results of the performances the following season went into the standings. Then Eckhoff started with 54th place on the Italian stage and was seventh towards the end of the competition, in the race from the mass start on the stage in Russia.

The 2012-2013 season presented the biathlete with the first cup medal - bronze in the relay in Sochi. Other stages were not pleased, the results were like a roller coaster - from 6 to 65th. Sweetened the pill gold in the sprint and silver in the pasture at the Norwegian championship. But to get to the World Cup, it was not enough.

In the spring of 2016, Ekhoff was diagnosed with asthma. Tyril uses the drug atrovent, but claims that it does not resort to it on a permanent basis, as the disease is detected in a mild form. In light of the asthma scandal in Norwegian sport by the end of the year, the girl said that she had no disease at all.

The main advantage of Tyril - speed, even in the presence of misses (which happens in biathletes often) she can catch up on the distance, without slowing down the pace to the finish. But shooting at the girl - a weak spot. Eckhoff is aware of this flaw, which he mentions periodically in interviews.

At the 2017-2018 World Cup, the Norwegian tickled her nerves with herself and her fans: she won a sprint in Italy and a mixed relay in Sweden and dropped to the fourth and fifth ten in Germany and France. At the stage in Austria she participated only in the sprint, where she was 78th.

Tyril's 2018 Olympic season started well. At the Norwegian Championships, the biathlete won gold in the pursuit race and two silvers in the sprint and in the mass-start race. The girl also took part in ski races, which by definition does not like. Perhaps that's why Eckhoff remained in fourth position in the team sprint at the national championship.

Tyril planned to practice shooting in the men's team under the leadership of Sihirfried Maze. This approach of the athlete caused bewilderment in the coaching staff, who said in the key that it is unlikely that Eckhoff will be treated there in a special way. The biathlete had previously reproached the leadership of the national team that she had trained too much on her own. 

Although the girl has learned a lot, she believes that only communication with coaches allows to progress in sports terms. Talking to her mentors on a personal initiative, Tyril seemed to impose it on them, so she felt uncomfortable.

The sporting director tried to justify himself, saying that the training of biathletes is based on team training, but between them the support of coaches is strengthened. Tyril is obliged to follow the established scheme.

For the sake of the Olympics, Eeckoff sacrificed Christmas, which she usually spent with her family. However, the holidays ended with a cold and loss of form. This time the athlete decided not to take any risks.

In the midst of preparations for the Games, Tyril had a problem with his eyes - imaginary myopia. After a couple of months, the athlete's vision improved. Upon arrival in Korea, to which the Scandinavian resident got 24 hours, Eckhoff lost his luggage. Apparently, the problem was resolved, as a photo with the relevant commentary disappeared from the Instagram page.

The games in Pyeongchang are not a matter of pride for the Norwegian. The highest achievement remains 9th place in the pursuit race, which was won by german Laura Dahlmeier. There is only one to regret the places in the 20 at the distance of 15 km and in the sprint.
