Basota is one of the youngest representatives of the constellation of Russian rap artists, but he already has several albums on his account, including "From the Inside", "Shkolnik" and "Queentallep". Basota's real name is Timur Chelyanov. The artist's childhood was not easy. Timur was born on December 22, 1995 in the city of Bronnitsy, Moscow Region. When the boy was still young, at the age of two, he received a severe burn with boiling water and subsequently underwent several difficult operations. The atmosphere at home was not the best, the parents were in conflict, and after a while they completely divorced. To protect her son from finding out the relationship between adults, his mother sent Timur to his grandmother for a while in Ryazan.

When family passions subsided, Timur returned to his mother. After a while, a new man named Vadim appeared in the family, who replaced the boy's father. He was kind and caring towards Timur and his new wife. The family healed happily.

At the age of 7, Timur went to school with a physical and mathematical bias. He studied well and, after graduation, recalled school with warm words. In an interview, Basota talks about what a friendly class it was, and that he studied without much effort and with interest.

The main tests for the boy did not come from the school. Three deaths happened in the family in a row: first, Timur's beloved uncle passed away, then grandfather died, and the main blow was the tragic death of his beloved stepfather Vadim - he crashed in a car accident.

In order to somehow recover from the shocks of life and the loss of loved ones, Timur begins to actively get involved in music. He gets acquainted with the work of artists Eminem, 50 Cent, Guf and Centr. As Timur himself admits, at that time he was 11 years old, and he did not always understand the meaning of all the lines, but he was strongly hooked by the presentation of the material, as well as the honesty and straightforwardness of the texts. Then he begins to write his own rhymes and create tracks from them.

Timur recorded his first songs at home, and posted the result of the work on a social network. When the guy was 13 years old, the already famous rapper Ptah drew attention to his lyrics. A senior colleague invited Timur to the TsAO studio to record a joint track.

At the same time, at the studio, other venerable rappers gave him the nickname Shket, since Timur was still very young and looked childish against the background of other performers. But after a while the guy wrote a song called "Basota" - so a new pseudonym was stuck to him, which has now become a second name.

Since then, Basota began to visit the TsAO studio, and at the same time study at school. After graduating from high school, he had a strong conflict with rapper Slim. It got to the point that Slim offered to exclude Basota from the "Central Administrative District", but the guy left himself - he decided to continue his education in Austria.

His friend lived and studied there, through whom Timur found out that studying in another country would cost him less than receiving a paid education in Moscow, and besides, he was attracted by less strict requirements for the deadlines for the sessions. The decision was made, and Basota went to study "over the hill".

But less than two months later, Timur returned to Russia and continued to engage in creative work. By that time, he had already written many tracks, in 2012 the performer started recording his first solo album "From the Inside". It includes 17 compositions, including "Until Spring", "When I Leave", "Fall asleep", "Kipish", "Bardak" and others.

In 2014, the rapper's second album, entitled "ex. Schoolboy". Within the framework of it, 5 songs were recorded, including "My Rock", "From a Blank Slate", "Anew" and "Vlad Valov". And for the song "Star of David" in 2015, a video was released, which instantly became megapopular. A little later, the rapper released a new hit - "Dust on Sneakers".

The lyrics of his songs are sad and in places gloomy, in them the performer touches on life problems and questions. At the same time, the rapper's voice is soft, pleasant, and, although Basota's age has long passed the 20 mark, it resembles a teenager.

In 2015, Basota released another compilation called "Queentallep", which combines 4 tracks. Also, in the period from 2013 to 2015, Basota participates in rap battles three times, and each time wins. The performer himself says this: 

Basota carefully protects his relations from the public eye. Despite the fact that the rapper often gives interviews, in them he only talks about creativity. The musician now lives in Moscow with his mother, but more often he is not at home, but on tour.
