Biography
After studying drama in New York, Tim Blake Nelson began his film career in 1992 with an appearance in the comedy My life is a comedy, the first production by Nora Ephron, before moving on to Amateur by Hal Hartley two years later. Limited to small roles, as in Donnie Brasco by Mike Newell in 1997 or The Red Line by Terrence Malick in 1998, he turned to directing and adapted his own play in 1997 with Eye of God, awarded at the Sundance Festival. the same year.
Along with his work behind the camera, Tim Blake Nelson continues to carve out a place among the great supporting roles of American cinema. It was in 2000 that he was noticed by the general public by following George Clooney in his O'Brother odyssey directed by Ethan and Joel Coen. This was followed in particular by the independent drama The Good Girl (2002), which received a lot of attention at the Sundance Film Festival and the futuristic thriller Minority Report (id.) In 2011, he appeared in Tony Kaye's second film, Detachment, before stepping back in time to the Civil War for Lincoln (2012) directed by Steven Spielberg.
