Soviet and Russian theater and film actor Alexander Pozharov does not have a very large filmography, but his projects include an impressive list of dubbing works. The image of Shura Karetny, a philosophizing "swearing man" of middle age, helped him become famous, it was in this role that the inhabitants of Russia learned about the artist.

Alexander's biography began in Moscow, where he was born in mid-December 1950. Little is known about his childhood years. The boy went to general secondary school, had good grades, but was not an excellent student either. Having received a certificate of maturity, he was in no hurry to enter the university, and therefore at the age of 18 he was called up to serve in the army.

Apparently, there came to Alexander the final realization of what he wants to do. After demobilization, Pozharov returned to the capital and entered the course of Alexander Nikolaevich Annenkov at the Shchepkin Higher Theater School. In 1975, the young man received a diploma of higher education and immediately entered the service at the Hermitage Theater.

For some time, the name of Pozharov was associated only with theatrical performances. Seeing the talent and desire to play on stage, the directors involved the artist in several performances at once. Most of all, viewers celebrate the reincarnation of Alexander in "Zoyka's apartment", "My older sister", "Fiend", "Under the bed".

At the V. Meyerhold Center, he played with director Irina Keruchenko in "A Cage from the Inishman Island", and at the Vakhtangov State Academic Theater he got a role in "Carlson Who Lives on the Roof".

Although the actor has always loved performing in front of full auditoriums, he did not refuse roles in films either. True, at first these were only minor characters, not bringing him much fame. Alexander made his television debut in 1975, the same year as his first theatrical performance.

His first job was shooting in the Soviet feature film "I have a lion" directed by Konstantin Bromberg. Further in the career of the artist, episodic characters appear in the melodrama "She was born in a shirt", "Haunted house" and "Dislike".

In addition to Pozharov, Pyotr Korshunkov, Stanislav Duzhnikov, Vladislav Kopp, Alexey Panin, Alisa Grebenshchikova and others played there.

At the same time, the actor's filmography included the criminal detective "Azazel" - a screen version of Boris Akunin's first book about Erast Fandorin. True, there he appeared only in the 3rd episode in the form of a conductor on a train. And then came the Russian-Ukrainian film Atlantis, directed by Alexander Pavlovsky, where the artist again played an insignificant character.

And then Pozharov is again engaged only in dubbing, occasionally appearing in films. In 2000, viewers heard his voice in the cartoon collection Baron Munchausen directed by Nathan Lerner, Anatoly Reznikov and Igor Kovalev. In 2002, he played a homeless person in "Secular Chronicles", then a womanizer in "My Family" and a toastmaster in "Three from above".

In the melodrama "Kings Can Do Everything", the man gets the image of Dr. Barashkevich, and in the drama "The Witch Doctor" - the Perm plastic surgeon. In 2011, Pozharov appeared in the sketch show "One for All" and the comedy "Supermanager, or the Hoe of Fate", and in 2015 - in the film by Mikhail Levitin, Jr. "Scoundrel". After that he voiced 3 cartoons, including the adventure film "Enchanted Princess" in 2018.

Filming in films did not bring the artist much success, and therefore in 1998 Pozharov decided to declare himself in a different role, and he did not lose. In the late 1990s, Alexander appeared before the audience in the form of Shura Karetny, who tells stories, "seasoning" them with selected obscenities and witty jokes. The character is invented by its author, as is the biography of Karetny, who allegedly has repeatedly served a sentence in prison. The man talked about this in a monologue.

The pseudonym Pozharov was not chosen by chance. The Hermitage Theater, in which he worked, is located on Karetny Ryad Street, hence the artist's invented surname. Alexander promoted creativity not only on cassettes, but also hosted a program on Radio Troika, albeit without swearing, performed on Children's Radio. And in 2015 he created his own blog on YouTube.

Not much information is known about the artist's personal life. In his youth, he entered into his first marriage, which the couple could not save. The wife gave the actor two children, who are now adults and are building their own career. Alexander decided to marry for the second time already at a mature age, and the chosen one Julia is much younger than her husband. But this did not prevent the couple from creating a strong family in which mutual support and understanding reign.

In 2016, Alexander's fans became aware of the terrible illness of their favorite artist. Some time before this, the man began to feel unwell. Comprehensive medical examination revealed rectal cancer. This news did not break the spirit of the actor, he continued to record videos. At the same time, he talked about the state of his health, what medical procedures he undergoes and the course of treatment in general.

In September 2017, Pozharov underwent an operation to remove the tumor, his health improved after it, and he was transferred from intensive care to the general ward. Fans of the artist, as well as colleagues in the theater and all those who remained not indifferent to the man's misfortune helped in raising money for expensive treatment. Soon he was discharged. The treatment continued on an outpatient basis, with periodic medical examinations in a regular hospital.

Pozharov himself seems to be inactively using social networks, but he has assistants who are happy to maintain a page on VKontakte on behalf of a man, where they regularly post photos and posts from Karetny.

From the publications posted in the group, it is clear that the man feels rather well. In February 2019, he underwent another examination, but in April he complained that in recent days he was overcome by weakness. Probably, the past illness and age make themselves felt.

Videos with Karetny are now released much less frequently. At the end of 2017, the publication "Kolyan's Farewell" appeared on the artist's official website. The real name of this very "Kolyana" is Denis Denisov. Previously, he was the operator of Pozharov, he also processed the footage and posted it on the Internet.
