Well, the risk of life is death. Everyone who lives lives at the risk of dying. Should we stop living now?
The greatest risk is, by the way, a person to have an accident at home (bathroom, kitchen)
And yet - you decide where.
My husband's cousin has been playing polo all his life, but at the age of 40 he falls and is temporarily paralyzed - something swells and his spinal cord squeaks. And so from the neck down he was paralyzed for 1 month until the outflow decreased ... he hasn't played polo since then, but he still takes cocaine :) and drives a Corvette at 200 km per hour on the highway
Everyone weighs the risks in life and the pleasure, benefit / risk ratio.
It depends on how important your hobby is to you. I know people who are afraid to fly, for example and limit themselves very well, although the risk of dying in a car accident or in the bathroom is higher.
This is a decision you have to make yourself. Whatever we tell you here, you're risking your ass.
I have been practicing enuro for 7-8 years, and of course I have fallen many times. Good equipment can limit the damage from light falls, and a well-chosen riding style (according to the conditions and terrain) reduces the risk to some extent. However, it is easier for me because the bike carries me, I don't see how you will ride a bike with full equipment ...
After all, any sport, especially extreme sports, carries the risk of injury.
Do not! I practice the same sport in the Downhill style (the most extreme for the ignorant), I compete and the risk is great, but the adrenaline that brings me outweighs the fear of falling. Drive with full equipment, especially the neck brace, because the area of the back, nape and neck is the most dangerous. Don't give up, the sport is not very developed in Bulgaria, although it is great!
Author: Thanks to everyone who answered me!
Don't do it, there is a constant risk to life, but the adrenaline you feel is the best and prevails as number 3 says. Last year I went out without any risk to my life and broke my arm and leg. So just because you can stop doesn't mean you won't fight somewhere cruel. However, I have no experience in this sport, but it is very interesting to me. Success and fast recovery.
