Biography
The hit "On the White Blanket of January" instantly lifted the group "Sweet Dream" and its leader Sergei Vasyutu to the top of popularity. But the success turned out to be short-lived: already in the mid-90s a difficult period of oblivion began. Vasyuta and his wife left for Germany. The return to Russia, as well as to the domestic show business, took place at the beginning of the new millennium.

Childhood and youth
Sergey's hometown is located in the Sumy region. He was born in Romny on October 10, 1965. Mom worked as a merchandiser, father worked as a mechanic. Together with Sergei, the younger brother Oleg grew up in the family, who to this day lives in Ukraine. In early childhood, he stuttered badly, but then corrected the defect.
As a child, Vasyuta divided his free time between music, martial arts and football, even dreaming of a career as a professional athlete for some time. But everything was changed by the injury received at the training camp of the youth tournament "Leather Ball".
Having recovered, Sergei could continue training, but what happened made him think about his readiness to constantly risk his health, and the young man made a choice in favor of art.
At the age of 16 he became a soloist in a military orchestra. After serving in the army, he graduated from a music school and at the age of 24 got into the "Light Path" group. Since the collective did not achieve popularity, its director in 1990 created a new association with an expanded repertoire and the same participants. During the first year of its existence, "Sweet Dream" found tremendous success.

In an interview, Sergei Vasyuta admits that few people believed in the success of the pop group. Moreover, an era of change was approaching, and the future of the state, its economy, and Russian society was difficult to predict. For himself, the performer decided: it will not work until the age of 25 with music - he will engage in business. But the album, released in 1990, named after the song that became the hallmark of the group, saved Vasyuta from a choice.
The compositions "Night February", "Scarlet Roses", "On a White Blanket" and other hits quickly became known throughout the country and a few months later, in early 1991, the group went on their first tour. The tour lasted a whole year, and in December, "Sweet Dream" began recording a second disc called "Barefoot Girl".
Now Vasyuta is critical of himself at that time, notes that he was arrogant and picky. He demanded ideal conditions for the performance from the organizers. These character traits were reflected in colleagues and loved ones. Books on esotericism helped to understand the behavior, but later.
In 1991, Oleg Khromov left the team. It was not without a scandal: the musician recorded an album and included the title track of the first disc, "Sweet Dream". The authorship of the song "On the white blanket of January" has not yet been precisely established.
By the mid-90s, the demand for the group decreased. As Vasyuta noted in an interview with the Rodnoy Gorod newspaper, the period of calm was the most difficult in his life. For some time he lived in Germany.
In 1997, Vasyuta discovered a new sphere for himself - producing. The collection "Russian Disco" was released, after which the musician decided to found a company that began to reissue albums from cassettes and reels of albums by performers of the early 90s. The digitization of magnetic tapes was the impetus for the revival of retro. In the end, this path led Vasyuta to the organization of joint concerts with colleagues under the brand name "Disco USSR".

Personal life
Sergey Vasyuta has a wife, Olga. They have been married for over 20 years. The couple met at the dawn of the popularity of "Sweet Dream": the group toured in Tver along with other bands. Among them was the girl's team "March 8", which was produced by Vyacheslav Dobrynin.
It was in it that 18-year-old Olga sang. The director of "Sweet Dream" was the first to pay attention to her, but did not achieve the girl's favor. With Sergei, who at that time was 27 years old, Olga met on the bus on the way back to Moscow. The girl conquered the vocalist of "Sweet Dream" with her spontaneity and sincerity.
The decision to offer Olga a hand and heart was not easy for Sergei, since the group's fans should have seen a possible spouse in the artist. A stamp on a passport could ruin a career. And yet the singer chose a family. There was no magnificent celebration - after the registration of the marriage, the birth of a family was celebrated in a cafe with a close company. Vasyuta believes that the key to family happiness is that he and Olga are not only husband and wife, but also close friends.
The couple's first daughter was born in 2007. The girl was named Sonya. Her younger sister Christina was born in 2016. Sergei admits that he takes both his wife and children on tour. In summer and autumn, the family chooses to relax on the Black Sea. Vasyuta has a dacha near Feodosia. In a wooden house, a lot was done by his hands - the artist says that he can lay the floor and build a staircase.
Sergey considers himself an introvert, which explains the absence of talk shows with his participation, despite the growing popularity of issues about the culture of the 90s. Maintains friendly relations with fans of "Sweet Dream". In an interview with "Interlocutor" he said that he communicates with participants in the show "Battle of Psychics" Dmitry Volkhov and Anatoly Ledenev.
