The name of this actor may not be familiar to everyone, but the vivid images created by him in the films of the main Soviet storyteller Alexander Rowe are known and loved by everyone without exception. The most recognizable is the prince from the fairy tale "Barbara-beauty, long braid".

Sergei Nikolaev was born on November 2, 1946 in Riga. When the boy was 2 months old, the family moved to Moscow, so Sergei Sergeevich considered himself a Muscovite all his life. Little is known about the artist's childhood and youth. Only that, having become a high school student, he became interested in acting and began to attend the school drama club.

So the young man got into the crowd scene of the 1961 film "Knight's Move". Among the famous actors whom the boy saw on the set was Mikhail Ivanovich Pugovkin, with whom Nikolaev would later meet on the set of "Barbarian Beauty ..." (1969) and "Sitting on the Golden Porch" (1986).

Having received his first shooting experience while still in school, Sergei wanted to feel the magical atmosphere of cinema again and at the age of 22 got a job as a laborer at the domestic “dream factory” - the Gorky film studio.

The guys unloaded the props, dragged the scenery, dug trenches, in general, did the dirtiest work. As always happens on the eve of success, chance intervened. Once one guy from the brigade offered to go as a counselor to a pioneer camp from a film studio: supposedly he wanted to, but the circumstances changed. Sergey volunteered.

The team of the famous director-storyteller Alexander Arturovich Rowe came to diversify and fill children's recreation with cultural leisure: the filmmakers brought the fairy tale "Fire, Water and Copper Pipes" to the camp.
