Russian rapper ATL - a representative of the creative community "Belaya Chuvashia" is rightfully considered one of the most prominent representatives of the "new school" of Russian rap. More than once, his senior comrades in the craft spoke positively about the guy's releases, noting that he manages to skillfully play with images and masterfully convey the overall atmosphere of the track.

In fact, the guy's name is Sergey Kruppov. He was born on January 30, 1989. This event took place in the city of Novocheboksarsk (Chuvash Republic), where the future rapper spent most of his life.

Sergey became interested in rap thanks to the work of Eminem - a white-skinned performer who achieved recognition in black music, this example managed to instill in Kruppov the hope that he would be able to achieve similar results over time. The 2002 film by Curtis Hanson (Los Angeles Secrets, The Wave Breakers, Away From You), 8 Mile, only spurred the thirteen-year-old's desire to get creative.

The first, albeit not documented, performance of the young rapper took place in December 2005. According to Sergei himself, this happened at some city celebration, during which Kruppov met his future associates. A new acquaintance led to the creation of a team called Aztecs.

At first, the newly formed group, consisting of ATL, MC Fly, Cherokee and SmitBeat, simply exchanged musical innovations in the genre of Russian rap via the Internet, and also practiced freestyle during personal meetings. This continued until 2007: then the guys for the first time seriously thought about recording their debut album and about the beginning of the development and promotion of the group.

The next year Aztecs appeared in the new compilation of Nikita Legostyev (also known as rapper ST1M and Billy Milligan), released under the auspices of the Aggrobobruisk label. The disc was named “The World Belongs to You”, in honor of the quotation from the film “Scarface” by Brian De Palma (“Carrie”, “The Way of Carlito”, “Mission Impossible”), Kruppov and his company were noted for the composition “My World, My Style ".

In 2009 Aztecs took part in the rapper festival "Coffee Grinder", where, among other things, they won a prize. On the wave of success, the guys released their debut album, which received the ambitious and maximalist title "Now or Never". The next year was spent on a few tours, after which the group disappeared from the radar altogether.

Once again, ATL, MC Fly, Cherokee and SmitBeat made themselves felt only in 2012, releasing their second and part-time album "Music will be above us". After that, the Aztecs decide to disband, but in the future, the guys will cooperate with each other more than once.

In addition to the release of Music Will Be Above Us, in 2012 Sergei gave birth to two solo mini-albums at once - Thoughts Aloud and Warmth. They managed to create the proper resonance, which a year later brought ATL to the legendary offline battle platform Versus Battle, which was just beginning to develop under the strict guidance of Sasha Timartsev, better known to a wide audience under the nickname Restorator.

Kruppov, albeit without much chic, but still dealt with his opponent, in the role of which was played by almost unknown then rapper Andy Cartwright. However, Sergey realized that this type of activity did not suit him, so he rejected subsequent offers to fight with any of his colleagues in the workshop in battle form.

Instead of verbal contests, ATL plunged headlong into creativity. This is eloquently evidenced by the full-fledged album of the rapper "Bones", released in 2014, and then by the next mini-album "Center of the Cyclone". At the same time, Sergey's first clips were released - "Natural Born Killers" and "C4".

In 2015, Kruppov released a new solo album "Marabou", after which he realizes that he is ready to go on a tour of the CIS countries with his songs. Wasting no time, Sergei began to implement this venture. In his free time, ATL managed to shoot three more videos - "Mandrake Root", "Skull and Bones" and "Snowdrop".

2016 will be remembered by the rapper's fans for the re-release of the old FCKSWG mixtape, as well as the release of the video for the songs "Iskra" and "Bee".

During his relatively short career, the rapper managed to work with Snake (Casta), L'One, Scryptonite, ST, Evil, Ar-Side, Pablo Stop and some other performers of the same level. By the way, such senior colleagues in the workshop as Vladi (Casta), Basta (aka Noggano and N1NT3ND0), Noize MC and Guf (Centr) spoke flatteringly about ATL itself. The abovementioned artists admitted this during an interview with Yuri Dudyu.

2017 turned out to be quite prolific for Kruppov in terms of creativity. This representative of the "Belaya Chuvashia" community released a new album "Limb", which expanded the already considerable audience of the rapper's listeners. The main hits of the new disc were “Back”, “Dance”, “Sacred Rave”, “Architect” and, in fact, “Limb”, clips were shot for the last three compositions.

Sergey, along with his fellow beatmakers from Dark Faders, also appeared in the twenty-fifth episode of the Profession: Rapper web project, hosted by the permanent Denis Grigoriev (aka rapper Karandash).

At the end of the year, Kruppov on Instagram shared with the fans the schedule of upcoming performances (posted under the photo from the concert), which will begin on January 19 from the capital's concert venue GLAVCLUB GREEN CONCERT.
