Childhood and youth
Salman, a Chechen from Taip Gordaloy, was born in Gudermes on 13 February 1967. His biography began like an ordinary Soviet child: first an Octobrist, then a pioneer, then a Komsomol member. He was actively involved in Komsomol affairs, led an atheist circle. For this, his classmates disliked him.
While serving in the army, Salman joined the ranks of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, was in his part the deputy secretary of the Komsomol organization. After demobilization, he returned to building a career along the Komsomol line - he became a member of the Chechen-Ingush regional committee of the Komsomol, an instructor in one of the departments of the regional committee. As an exemplary, purely positive Komsomol member later turned into a brutal terrorist, history is silent.
Raduev in an interview boasted that he had a higher education in economics, graduated from graduate school and practically wrote his Ph.D.

When the "Chechen revolution" happened, Raduev joined General Dudayev, the leader of the National Congress of the Chechen People. In the summer of 1992, Salman became the prefect of his hometown according to Dudayev's decree, but stayed in this position for a little less than two years: in the spring of 1994, the inhabitants of Gudermes achieved his removal from the post of prefect.
In the same summer, Dudayev's general created the "Presidential Berets" and became the head of this armed formation. In November 1994, the "Berets" became a special unit called "Borz", that is, "Wolf" in Chechen. And Salman Raduyev became the commander of the North-Eastern Front of the Armed Forces of Ichkeria. When federal troops took Gudermes in March 1995, Raduev was no longer there.
There is information that then he was hiding in the mountainous Vedeno region, joining the detachment of the notorious Shamil Basayev. In December 1995, Raduyev announced that he had won in Gudermes the elections for the head of the administration, which were organized by the authorities of Ichkeria. And on December 14, his militants, together with the detachment of Sultan Geliskhanov, who was in charge of the State Security Department of Ichkeria, took Gudermes and held him until December 23.
In January 1996, it became known to all of Russia who Salman Raduev was. Chechen fighters came to Kizlyar by order of Dzhokhar Dudayev. The field commanders carefully prepared: the terrorists worked out the route, conducted reconnaissance. Not all militants agreed to go to the Dagestan raid - they were afraid of blood feud. Still, about 300 volunteers gathered under the command of Salman Raduev and Khunkar-Pasha Israpilov.
At that time, a Russian helicopter base and a military town of the Ministry of Internal Affairs troops were located in Kizlyar. The militants destroyed two helicopters, but on this their luck left them, and the terrorists had to go back to Chechnya. They ensured their own departure from Kizlyar with the lives of the hostages, seizing the maternity hospital and the city hospital. At the time of the capture, there were more than a hundred people in the Kizlyar hospital - doctors and patients. About three thousand more people from the surrounding houses were herded to the hospital a little later.
The militants did not agree to negotiations with the feds. On January 10, with a hundred hostages, having released the rest, the terrorists left Kizlyar and moved to Chechnya. It was planned to cross the line near Pervomayskoye - a village 300 meters from the border. The feds did not even think about releasing the militants from Dagestan: they had to first release the hostages. Raduev's column came under fire and went to Pervomayskoye, where it gained a foothold, taking militiamen hostage. A week later, during the storming of the village by the federals, 70 separatists and more than 200 civilians were killed.
After the Kizlyar terrorist attack, Raduev received the title of brigadier general and the orders "Hero of the Nation" and "Honor of the Nation". And in 1997, the President of Ichkeria, Zelimkhan Yandarbiev, awarded Salman Raduev with a personalized pistol. The vain Raduev did not hesitate to ascribe responsibility for many terrorist acts committed on the territory of Russia and threaten with new acts of terrorism.
At the same time, the separatist publicly declared that Berezovsky was a noble man. Colonel General, Hero of Russia Gennady Troshev wrote in his memoirs that, according to Akhmat Kadyrov, on the eve of the invasion of Chechen separatists into Dagestan, Berezovsky transferred them about $ 1 million to "strengthen friendship between peoples." Troshev even assumed that Berezovsky was in cahoots with the militants who kidnapped Russian soldiers, and then Boris Abramovich allegedly released them.
Raduev's desire to be known as terrorist No. 1 subsided after a series of assassination attempts. For example, in March 1996, the Russian media reported about his death at the hands of bloodsheds. A tombstone was even installed at the Urus-Martan cemetery. Three months later, Raduev was "resurrected" and at a press conference in Grozny said that the assassination attempt was the work of the Russian special services. The terrorist was treated in Germany for the consequences of a serious injury.
A titanium plate was inserted into his skull and a series of plastic surgeries were performed, after which the separatist stopped looking like his own old photos. And Raduev often went to his "grave", believing that this brings him good luck. By the way, in those years, his driver was Adam Delimkhanov, who was more fortunate than many other associates of the field commander - now he is a deputy of the State Duma of Russia.
In the Second Chechen War, in 1999, Raduev suffered several defeats from federal troops, and his bandit formation finally disintegrated. March 13, 2000 - the day of the arrest of Salman Raduev by the FSB. While awaiting trial in the Lefortovo SIZO, Raduyev said that he was writing a book about the last decade in Chechnya. But after almost two years of the investigation, the result was not a book, but 129 volumes of a criminal case and a sentence - life imprisonment. After the appeal, the RF Supreme Court upheld the verdict.

Personal life
There is practically no information about the personal life and about the family of the terrorist Raduev. Betyr Raduyev's father had two wives: Salman's mother, Umisat Abuyazidova, and Sidar Khadzhaev's stepmother. The only brother was named Suleiman, but there were seven sisters. In 1995, unknown persons blew up Raduev's house in Gudermes. Salman was not there, but his relatives died.

Death
Raduev spent his last days in the White Swan prison in Solikamsk. On December 6, 2002, Raduev suffered a hemorrhage, and on December 13, he was hospitalized, where the next morning he died from extensive internal bleeding.
