Biography
Brother of Macaulay and Kieran, Rory Culkin begins in the cinema very early in the shadow of his elders, by playing their younger characters: he thus makes a photographic appearance in The Good Son (1993), before playing in Ri ¢ hie Ri ¢ h (1994) and Igby (2002).
The young actor owes his first real role to Kenneth Lonergan, who chooses him at 11 to play Laura Linney's son in You Can Count On Me, and forges a strong relationship with his uncle Mark Ruffalo. The youngest of the siblings then continues to make his place in Hollywood by giving the reply to Mel Gibson the following year in Signs, by M. Night Shyamalan.
Teenager, Rory Culkin gets noticed in independent productions; after taking a group of friends on a fatal journey in Mean Creek (2004), he forms particularly intense relationships with the adults around him (Robin Williams in The Night Listener, Edward Norton in Down in the Valley).
As if to mark his passage to adulthood, Culkin joined in 2011 the new generation of Scream in the fourth installment of the saga, after suffering the perverse effects of a new drug in Twelve (2010) alongside Chace Crawford. Choosing his roles sparingly, he meets the young Rachel, looking for the rocker who would have made her pregnant in Electrick Children (2013), Rebecca Thomas' first feature film.
