Biography
“Press the button - you will get the result” - in the early 1990s, hardly anyone did not hear this song and saw on television a black and white video with young people with serious faces and in leather jackets. The author of the composition, Roman Ryabtsev, was the lead singer of the Tekhnologiya group, but his musical career was never limited to this group.
fact
Childhood and youth
Roman Nikolayevich Ryabtsev was born on January 25, 1970 in Voronezh.
The singer's childhood passed away from his homeland: his parents were diplomats, and from 6 to 11 years old little Roma lived in the capital of Syria, Damascus. There he studied in elementary school, but later the family had to make a difficult decision about what to do next.
The son had already reached the age at which he was not allowed to travel with his parents; moreover, in the Middle East, in schools at the embassy, they taught only until the 5th grade. Therefore, Roman finished his studies at a boarding school specially created for children whose parents worked abroad.
After leaving school, the future artist, at the insistence of his parents, entered the Pedagogical Institute of Voronezh. Mom and Dad Roman were afraid to leave the teenager unattended, and so - both grandparents lived nearby, and the deputy dean of the faculty was their institute friend. The young man studied for a year in Voronezh, then transferred to a Moscow university. However, Roman did not receive a higher education, leaving the institute in the 2nd year.

Music
For the first time in the role of a musician, Roman tried himself in high school. The future artist knew how to play the piano, and his friend from the boarding school had a synthesizer, a drum machine and an electric organ. Together, the young men recorded 3 albums, the quality of which the musician is now expressing categorically, calling them "disgusting", although recognizing them sincere in terms of content.
At that time, Roman did not even think about the professional occupation of music: in order to get on the stage in the USSR, one had to have a musical education and be appropriately certified. Ryabtsev himself planned to follow in his parents' footsteps and become a diplomat. However, his passion for music remained, and while studying at the institute, the young man easily became a member of the local vocal and instrumental ensemble.
Later, in 1987, Roman even managed to become a participant in the first rock festival in Voronezh - however, he performed as a guest, that is, went out of competition. But even for this, the lyrics had to be taken for approval to the Komsomol bodies. Having moved to Moscow, Roman became a member of a local musical group, then played in another band, went on his first tour - so, slowly, a hobby became something more.
In 1988, Roman replaced in the duet "Goodbye, Youth!" keyboardist Sergei Bananov. After 2 years, the musician left for a similar position in the Bioconstructor group - a group that was one of the first in the country to start making music in the techno-pop style. After another 2 years, Bioconstructor transformed into the Technology group, and synth-pop became the main direction of the collective's creativity. At first, the main vocalist was Vladimir Nechitailo, who was later joined by Roman.
In 1991, "Technology" recorded its 1st album, "Anything You Want", and also shot videos for the composition "Strange Dances" (namely, "Strange", not "Dances Together", as they are often mistakenly called) and "Press the button". Both songs have become a kind of calling card of the group, and Roman says that fans and admirers have repeatedly said that their children were conceived to "Strange Dances".
Another distinctive feature of the band was Roman's vocals. The artist has never worked professionally with the voice: teachers refused him twice, saying that if he began to sing correctly, he would lose his zest. The producer of the group was Yuri Aizenshpis. Later, Roman said that he was rather the director of the collective - the musicians did not allow Aizenshpis to dictate what to sing and how to perform.
In 1993, after recording the album Sooner or Later, the singer left Tekhnologiya, signing a contract with a French record company. This gave Roman the opportunity to record songs the way he wanted, and not as his bandmates and Tekhnologiya fans expected. In France, however, Ryabtsev did not stay: firstly, there was no desire, and secondly, it was difficult for a Russian performer to break into the European music market.
Also, since 1993, Roman worked as both a composer and an arranger of songs for other performers. Throughout his career, he collaborated with Christina Orbakaite, and with the tATU group, and with another Aizenshpis musician - Vlad Stashevsky.
Those who believe that Roman has always been engaged only in underground music will be surprised, but the musician also worked with the group "Hands up!". For example, their cover version of the song "Jimmy" was made by Ryabtsev. Moreover, the song "White Ships" by the "Podyom" group, which has won specific popularity, is also the work of Roman.
The musician's solo career lasted 10 years. During this time, Roman released 4 discs: 2 compiled and 2 independent albums. In 2003, Tekhnologiya was revived, and on the initiative of Ryabtsev, although a month before the decisive conversation with Vladimir Nechitailo, the musician was sure that this would not happen. However, then Roman discovered that the group had many fans on the Web who dream of returning the group to the stage, and decided that it was worth trying.
The returned "Technology" once again achieved popularity. The musicians regularly went on tour, performed at rock festivals and recorded new albums. However, in 2017, Roman got tired of this group format. In an interview, the artist admitted that "Technology", in his opinion, "bronzed", they do not expect or want anything new from them, and this approach to creativity is not interesting for him. Now the main occupation of Roman is solo work.
Over the years of his career, the musician preferred to create in the neo-romantic style. He was not attracted by the protest theme of the underground of the 80s - 90s, and Roman considers politics to be a topic that is appropriate to touch not musicians, but journalists. Ryabtsev himself allows himself to talk on such topics outside the stage and creativity, but within the framework of his own blogs on social networks.
Although from time to time the novel can dilute the neo-romanticism with less serious, if not even "slippery" themes. For example, he owns a specific remix of the song "Hello, Grandfather Frost!" Instead of the classical text, the musician used a popular folk parody. In the video, however, the obscene vocabulary is replaced with the words "humpbacked friend of the children", but in the video from a live performance in the club, you can also hear an obscene version of the composition.

Personal life
The legacy of the Syrian childhood was Roman's fascination with the culture and customs of the Eastern world.
Later, while working in Paris, the musician mastered French, although he himself prefers English.
The novel was married four times. From his first wife, Catherine, he has 2 daughters. The second marriage with the journalist Marina Kantsler lasted less than a year, and the couple had no children.
The musician met Natalia Ryabtseva, his third wife, in 2015 at his own concert in St. Petersburg - the girl approached Roman for an autograph. The couple signed, and on October 16, 2016, the musician's youngest daughter, Julia, was born.
In 2018, information appeared in the press that Roman broke up with his young wife and officially divorced her in December. In addition, both Ekaterina and Natalia told reporters that the musician does not pay child support and does not even communicate with them.
Natalia Ryabtseva also claims that Roman questions his biological paternity in relation to their common daughter, and says that the musician left her because of another woman, director Maria Perova. Ryabtsev himself, like his director, denies non-payment of alimony, and Perova promises a trial for the media publishing false information.
It soon became known that Maria became the 4th wife of the musician. The wedding took place in March 2019.
