Biography
Son of Jewish restaurateurs of Spanish origin, Richard Anconina left school after a CAP in electromechanics. Orienting himself towards comedy, he made his first appearance on the screens in 1977 in Comment se faire reform and the following year landed a role in the play Notre-Dame de Paris by Robert Hossein. But the general public discovers him especially in Inspector la bavure (1980) by Claude Zidi and Le Bar du Téléphone, which also sees the debut of another young French actor, Christophe Lambert. The two men, who have become friends, will again play a role in Words and Music (1984) and the "canine" comedy Hercules and Sherlock (1996).
In 1983, it was the consecration: his performance as a young thug alongside Coluche in Tchao Pantin earned him the César for Young Hope and Best Supporting Actor. Now headliner, he rubs shoulders with Sabine Azéma in the thriller Zone rouge (1985), Michel Boujenah in the comedy David and Goliath (1987) and Anemone in the romance Send the violins (1988), before being nominated for the César for Best Actor in 1989 for Itinerary of a Spoiled Child by Claude Lelouch. Another award: in 1991, he won the Special Jury Mention at the Berlin Film Festival as well as the Louis Delluc Prize for Jacques Doillon's Le Petit Criminal.
Despite these rewards, Richard Anconina began in the 90s a crossing of the desert which ended abruptly in 1997 with the triumphant success of La Vérité si je mens! On the strength of this successful comeback , three years later he will resume his role as the Sentier fabric seller in the sequel La Vérité si je mens! 2 (2001), still signed Thomas Gilou. In the meantime, we see him try his hand at crime fiction with Six-pack (2000) by Alain Berberian and Gangsters (2002) by Olivier Marchal. Lending his voice to the lively dog Volt, he also distinguished himself in coaching roles for Alive (2004) and In the Ropes (2005), where he played a boxing trainer. In 2010, he joined the cast of Camping 2 of Fabien Onteniente and officially committed to the project of La Vérité si je mens 3.
