Usatii Renato Georgievich has been involved in politics since 2014. Renato Usatii is the head of the Moldovan Our Party and the opposition leader of the republic.

Renato took over the leadership of Balti, the second largest city in the Republic of Moldova, on June 14, 2015. In the local elections in the first round, 72.46% of voters voted for him.

One of the achievements in the work of Usatii: the city became the first in the republic in terms of the transparency of the actions of local authorities. Another important step in the activities of the head of Our Party was an agreement on cooperation with the Russian Liberal Democratic Party. In March 2017, he signed an agreement with Vladimir Zhirinovsky in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

At the end of 2017, the central government of the republic made another attempt to terminate the activities of the head of the city of Balti. Then Usatii spoke to the municipal councilors with the initiative to hold a referendum on confidence in him as the mayor.

On February 15, 2018, Renato resigned. He appointed Nikolai Grigorishin to the post of acting mayor, who later won early elections from Our Party in the first round.

In January 2016, the Prosecutor General's Office of the republic again opened a case against Usatii. The basis is false accusations of threats to Moldovan officials. In 2017, Usatii appealed to the European Court of Human Rights to protect his own rights and freedoms. His complaint was accepted for consideration.
