Hello author, I notice that you have a slightly distorted idea of martial arts, so let's clarify things: First: it is unlikely that somewhere in Bulgaria you will be able to study art with spiritual practices, you will be taught technique everywhere, you will not study philosophy anywhere. Second: Karate is not as pretentious as it seems at the demonstrations. The sparring, competitions and the street is much different. See this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6XpNLoUBr8 If you don't think anything special, then you haven't fought much. I know a karate coach who has a hell of a lot of cops going to get ready. Third: Anything you want to be good at will take years of training and some of it will be lost once you stop. Nothing happens in a month or two and nothing is eternal. Fourth: In every martial art there is a kind of "becoming a ninja" in one form or another: For boxing you have to be as fast as lightning, for karate you have to be flexible, for wrestling you have to be as strong as a cattle. But I'll tell you one thing: If you don't care, it's not worth it, you'll just waste your time and wear paint for nothing (I wear it as a workout, but at least it's for something). I would advise you to try something without prejudice, or you may like it. Every room I've been to so far accepts recruits of all ages and you won't need equipment anywhere, at least for the first time. My opinion is that one should exercise regularly anyway, so you have nothing to lose from such an endeavor. Congratulations and good luck! you will only waste your time and wear paint for nothing (I also wear it as a training but at least it is for something). Muay Thai is the best complex martial art, but in Bulgaria we do not have many trained coaches and it is a difficult sport, but it is the best.
