The group "Prime Minister" for many years of existence on the Russian pop scene has gained thousands of fans. Talented soloists charm with the romanticism of the lyrics, the melodiousness of soul melodies. In 1997, producer Evgeny Fridlyand came up with the idea to organize a Russian boy band capable of creating on the stage a kind of foreign "Boyzone". The discoverer of musical talents was in no hurry to hold auditions and competitions. The vocalists of the new group were presented by fate itself.

The first place in the team was won by Zhan Grigoriev-Milimerov, whose voice the producer heard while sitting at the table of the Angleterre restaurant. Jean sang Stevie Wonder's composition, and Friedland realized that the young man is the one who needs a new project.

The performer worked in a restaurant for a year before the producers noticed his talent. Since childhood, the young man was fond of vocals and music, masterly owned the violin and adored the work of foreign stars, trying to imitate the performers whose songs were heard from the records.

The rest of the soloists were brought to the boy band by Konstantin Arsenev, a friend of the producer of the newly organized group. They are Pete Jason and Dmitry Lanskoy. The son of a metropolitan translator and geologist from Kenya, Pete played the piano professionally. Trying himself in the arena of a popular singer, he recorded a solo album "Thousand Nights", however, he did not achieve fame on his own. Later, the singer worked in the same restaurant as Jean.

The third vocalist of the group is Dmitry Lanskoy, as well as his colleagues in the "Prime Minister", who moonlights in the restaurant's music program. The young man received a professional musical education at the Gnessin School. Dmitry stayed in the group for a short time, and in 2001 the vacant place was taken by Marat Chanyshev, who not only sang, but also wrote songs.

Having an impressive experience of working on the Russian stage, Evgeny Fridlyand immediately starts recording the debut disc of the ward group. By the way, it was he who came up with the name, which sounded catchy and provocative at the turn of the 90s and 2000, when Vladimir Putin was prime minister. The guys didn’t know until recently what name the band had until they saw the inscription on the cover of the first album.

Together with the debut disc, a new vocalist appeared in the collective - Vyacheslav Bodolica, a student of the Chisinau Conservatory.

The four of them, under the guidance of experienced Fridland, the guys worked, toured, filmed videos and recorded new albums until 2005. However, unexpectedly, a scandal has ripened in a prosperous team. First, Pete Jason dropped out of the lineup, and the new soloists proposed by the producer were mercilessly rejected by the old lineup. One such outcast was Taras Demchuk, a gifted musician who independently learned to play the button accordion at the age of five.

The misunderstanding of the vocalists and the producer ended with the departure of the wards from Friedland. According to the singers, they decided to terminate the contract with the management, despite the fact that the contract was in force for another year. Moreover, the young people decided that the name, like the repertoire, rightfully belonged to them. However, soon the court ruled otherwise, and the rights to the name of the group "Prime Minister", as well as to the songs, passed to Fridland.

Not bewildered, the former vocalists, to whom, by the way, Pete Jason joined again, changed their name to the "PM" group and continued their creative path. After some time, Bodolika left the team, and the rest of the participants re-established cooperation with the former producer.

The "Prime Minister" brand has not ceased to exist, having revived in a new composition. At first, the fans expressed their dissatisfaction, but soon the hearts of the listeners melted, and the gifted soloists fell in love.

The already mentioned Taras Demchuk appeared in the young line-up; another native of Ukraine, Sergey Demyanchuk - participant and bronze nominee of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" in 2003; Saratov citizen Vasily Kireev - a native of Kursk; laureate of musical competitions, graduated with honors from the pop-jazz school of the capital - Vyacheslav Yeskov and Ivan Orlov - a student of Gnesinka.

Soon Ivan Orlov was replaced in the collective by the winner of the project "People's Artist 3" Amarkhuu Borhuu. And Vyacheslav Eskov decided to leave the group and show business, considering that popularity, tours and crowds of fans did not seduce him. "People's Artist" stayed at the "Prime Minister" until 2013, after which he began to develop his own solo career. And a musician from Serpukhov, born in a military family, Anton Naumov, joined the team.

Simple, melodious melodies have become the hallmark of the band, both old and new. The hits of the "Prime Minister" were heard from speakers and on every popular music radio station. Managed to perform a successful duet with Nadezhda Kadysheva - "The Rain is Crying".

Some compositions were written by vocalists of the old line-up. Thus, the song "Two Diamonds", which was sung by everyone, young and old, was invented by Marat Chanyshev for a solo album, on which the musician worked before joining the group. The singer recalled that the song was "composed" in literally an hour and he did not expect such a general popularity of the melody.

In 2002, the group went to the international music contest "Eurovision", however, the guys failed to distinguish themselves. According to the voting results, "Prime Minister" got 10th place.

The new line-up of the group is no less talented not only as performers, but also as songwriters. The first album of the renewed line-up was released in 2006 under the title "March 8". This was the name of the group while the producer was in litigation. But the 2008 album "We Wanted It So Much" appeared already with the absolutely legal name of the group "Prime Minister" and a photo of the new members on the cover.

Currently, both groups work under the supervision of producer Yevgeny Fridlyand. The parties managed to settle their differences and come to a mutually beneficial existence. By the way, in an interview with Eg.ru, after the reconciliation, the producer of the collective noted that the culprit of the creative discord was Vyacheslav Bodolika, who considered that the contribution of the musicians to the group was insufficiently appreciated.

According to the court decision, the musicians are obliged to pay the former mentor an impressive amount in penalties. However, this unpleasant moment did not prevent the participants of the now group "PM" from expressing optimism about the forthcoming joint work with Yevgeny Fridlyand.

Both bands continue their touring activities, performing both in solo concerts and at festivals and joint venues.

Almost all the former members of the group, with the exception of Vyacheslav Yeskov, continue to work in the field of show business and develop their solo careers. At the same time, Vyacheslav Bodolika did not officially announce his departure from the "PM" group. Amarkhuu Borhuu also did not cover the departure from the "Prime Minister", although at the present time the talented performer performs solo and does not appear on stage with his former colleagues.
