Pavel Evgenievich Smeyan is a Soviet and Russian musician, singer, theater and film actor, composer, artist of the Lenkom theater, performer of songs for the films “Mary Poppins, Goodbye”, “Military romance”, male vocal opera "Juno and Avos".

Pavel was born on April 23, 1957 in Moscow together with his twin brother Alexander. The brothers, judging by the family photos, grew up absolutely similar to each other. The boys' parents, Evgeny Petrovich and Galina Aleksandrovna Smeyan, worked in the field of cinematography: their father was an employee of Sovexportfilm, and their mother participated as the chief administrator in the production of Mosfilm studio.

After the 9th grade, the young man went to Leningrad to enter the nautical school, but soon changed his mind. Returning to Moscow, he became a student of the pop department of the Gnessin Music College in the saxophone class.
