Laureate of the higher national diploma in Plastic Expression in 1986, Patrick Mario Bernard distinguished himself in various sectors of artistic creation: illustrator, graphic designer, he was also a scenographer and theater director until 1995.
From the middle of the 90s, Patrick Mario Bernard builds an original cinematographic universe with his companion Pierre Trividic. After a documentary on SF master HP Lovecraft, the couple stages their intimacy in the medium-length film This is a pipe, a disturbing reflection on the representation of the sexual act. Mario Bernard and Trividic also play the main roles of their first feature film, the no less singular Dancing (co-directed by Xavier Brillat), home moviehaunted filmed in DV, acclaimed by critics in 2003. In their second chilling and nocturnal opus , L'Autre, inspired by a story by Annie Ernaux, they paint the portrait of a sickly jealous woman (Dominique Blanc, Prix d performance in Venice in 2008), but also that of an anxiety-provoking society.
