Patrick Chan is a Canadian skater of Chinese origin. He performs in single skating. Ten-time winner of the Canadian championship. The skater's full name is Patrick Lewis Wei-Huan Chan. He was the only child in the family. His father Lewis Chan immigrated with his family to Canada when he was just 4 years old. He grew up in Montreal, he was fond of tennis and golf. He works as a lawyer. Patrick's mother, Karen, was a tennis player and at the age of 20 she also decided to move to Canada from Hong Kong to continue her studies. After Patrick was born, she devoted herself to raising her son.
The parents wanted the boy to be multilingual. Even at home they trained his skills - his father spoke to him in French, his mother - in Chinese, and in school and everyday life he communicated in English.
