Biography
Despite the fact that Olga Zarubina's work is inherent in drama, there is not a drop of hopelessness in the songs of the Soviet performer. Her sincere manner of performance and clear timbre of her voice fascinated listeners throughout the USSR.
The future pop star was born on August 29, 1958 in the village of Moskvorechye.
By the standards of those times, the Zarubins' family lived quite well - they had jewelry, a car and a garage. When Olga was two years old, the head of the family committed suicide. Zarubina painfully experienced the death of her father and throughout her life blamed her mother for his death. She suspected that, being a married woman, Lyudmila Bronislavovna (Olga's mother) started a relationship on the side and met her second husband long before Vladimir's death.
The stepfather is a rude, oppressive person who suppressed Zarubina both morally and physically. The man raised his hand both to his wife, and to Olya, and to the singer's elder brother, Sasha. After the birth of Tatyana's half-sister, money was sorely lacking, and Lyudmila, in order to feed her family, began working in two shifts at a chemical plant. And the stepfather, who worked as a watchman three days later, continued to turn the lives of children into hell.
The elder brother of the artist, at the age of 18, fell ill with a severe form of angina. Complications in the form of a three-valve heart disease put a cross on the young guy and put the young man in a hospital bed. Alexander fought as best he could with the disease, clinging to life to the last, but, like his father, he died at the age of 35 (in 1983).
It is reliably known that Olga gravitated towards singing from a very young age. Her debut as a singer took place in the pioneer camp. IN AND. Lenin. True, as the artist herself recalls, the performance was a failure, since she forgot the words.
At the age of 10, after seeing a pianist playing on TV, Olga became interested in playing the piano and went to a music school, where she studied for 7 years. Not a single school event was complete without the participation of a talented girl.
Despite her obvious addiction to music, after graduation Zarubina did not plan to connect her life with the stage. In 1975 she entered the Moscow Medical School No. 37 (now Medical College No. 5). After studying there for 2 years, the girl passed her practice at the Institute of Neurosurgery and received the profession of a nurse.

Music
While studying at a medical school, Olga, as part of a student ensemble, was a regular not only at rest evenings, but also at all kinds of music competitions. The famous singer Alexander Zaborsky noticed a promising girl at one of these events. Zarubina, together with her friend and comrade Sergei Korzhukov (the future soloist of the Lesopoval group), often sang a song from the film A Romance of Lovers. This hit became a "ticket" to Zaborsky's group "Postal Stagecoach" (at the Moscow Main Post Office).
The first meeting with the composer Vyacheslav Dobrynin took place in 1977 at the same Central Post Office. Dobrynin, fascinated by Olga's vocal abilities, invited the popular VIA "Leisya, song" ensemble (headed by Mikhail Shufutinsky) to listen to the young singer. The team approved the red-haired beauty for the role of backing vocalist. Together they recorded the track "You'll see."
From the biography of the star it is known that the first appearance of Olga Zarubina on the TV screen takes place in 1977 in the TV show "Sing, Friends!" with "Song of the Captain".
In the same year, at the competition for young performers in the Palace of Culture. Gorbunov, the composer David Tukhmanov, who was sitting in the jury, drew attention to the young artist. The man wrote down Olga's last name in a notebook and promised to write a hit for her soon.
Tukhmanov's song "It shouldn't be like this" had the effect of a "exploding bomb" and brought Olga all-Union fame. For the first time, the country heard it on the air of the New Year's "Blue Light" on January 1, 1979. The song was performed in a duet with the future master of the national stage - artist Mikhail Boyarsky. A number for the “Song of the Year” festival was also filmed (however, it was subsequently cut from the air).
At the end of 1977, under the patronage of Tukhmanov, Olga entered the VIA "Muzyka" (artistic director - Nikolai Vorobyov). As part of the ensemble, the red-haired young lady not only recorded a number of songs ("Spring insomnia", "I'll come to you", "Not always", "Not handsome"), but also played the main female role in the rock opera by A. Bogoslovsky "Scarlet Sails ".
After that, the singer was often invited to radio and television. In the programs "Morning Mail" and "Wider Circle", her compositions "You Arrived" and "Overcome the Grass" regularly sounded, and eminent composers began to write music especially for the red-haired handsome man. So, Vladimir Shainsky presented the young lady with the hit "The Sky of Childhood", which does not lose its relevance in 2017, and Boris Emelyanov composed "How Good Under Mother's Wing."
In 1979 for the film "Summer Tour" Zarubina sang songs: "My Joy" and "Take me with you."
In 1980, due to the false accusation of Nikolai Vorobyov that he stole and sold the musical instruments of the collective, VIA "Muzyka" disintegrated. Taking this opportunity, the head of the Mosconcert Mikhail Ilyich Yakon creates the Metronome ensemble and takes part of the composition from VIA Muzyka into his project. But Zarubina, who decided to start a solo career, did not stay there for a long time.
Already in 1985, the Melodiya company released her solo EP, Doll. The greatest success for the talented singer came in the late 1980s, when Olga reached the finals of the Song of the Year television festival twice (in 1987 with the popular track Music Plays on the Ship, in 1989 with Razgulyay).
In 1988, the film "Primorsky Boulevard" was released, in which Olga Zarubina sang two songs, one of them ("Why are we not together?") With a duet with singer Evgeny Golovin.
Olga's singing career collapsed at one point. In 1991, during concerts in Cheboksary, due to illness, she had to perform with a phonogram (which the singer, according to colleagues, had not done before). During the performance, the sound disappeared, and a couple of days later these footage was shown in the TV show "Perestroika Searchlight". The annoyed artist moved to the United States with her husband and family. There Olga recorded 2 albums, but only one was released.
In 2007, at the invitation of the NTV channel, Zarubina returned to Russia to participate in the "You are superstar!" Program. From that moment on, her work continued in her homeland.
In 2012, a new disc "Not by chance" was released, which included both fresh compositions and hits recorded in new arrangements ("Separated Woman", "Motor Ship", "Sky of Childhood", "It Shouldn't Be This Way").

Personal life
Olga Zarubina was married three times. Her first husband was the performer Alexander Malinin. The girl met Alexander Vyguzov (the real name of the singer) as a member of the Metronome ensemble. At that time, the guy was married and had a little son, Nikita. But Sasha's persistent courtship bore fruit, and as a result, Olga reciprocated the charming young man.
In 1983, the young people got married, and in 1985 they had a daughter, Kira. She was a very sickly child and at the age of four months she underwent a complex heart operation. Alexander, who by this time was performing in Stas Namin's "Flowers" collective, stopped all communication with his wife and daughter.
The singer's second husband, Vladimir Evdokimov, was her art director, and then became a man on whom Zarubina could rely. It was he who took on the role of the head of the family, and it is he who is considered by Kira to this day as a father.
After moving to the United States, Zarubina worked as a medical translator, and Evdokimov did everything possible so that their family did not need anything. In 2008, Vladimir Evdokimov died of stomach cancer, and Olga returned to Russia.
In 2010, the singer got married for the third time. Andrei Salov, an administrator who once worked with the Laskoviy May group and Alexander Buinov, is 13 years younger than Olga, but the singer does not look her age, so the couple looks harmonious.

The star of the Soviet stage appeared in Andrey Malakhov's project "Let They Talk" (2010, 2011, 2013), and in Boris Korchevnikov's program "Live" (2015), and even in "Private History" on the Doverie TV channel (2013 year).
In 2016, Olga starred in Fashionable Sentence. It is no exaggeration to say that for a woman who opened the soul of a multi-million audience, the program became a springboard to a new life, changing it not only externally, but also internally.
Now the artist's concert activity has been suspended. Admirers of her work can only review the videos from the performances and collect the singer's photos scattered on the Internet.
