“We will go, we will race on the deer in the early morning ...” - more than one generation sings. But not everyone remembers the singer who performed this hit. His name is Nikolay Beldy, and his stage name is Cola Beldy.

Kola was born on May 2, 1929 in the village of Mukha, in the distant Khabarovsk Territory. The boy became an orphan early, and began to stutter due to nervousness. Cola was treated by a local shaman - there were no hospitals. At first, Nikolai was brought up by his aunt, and then the boy ended up in a boarding school. Whether the aunt was dear or not, now no one will say for sure, because in the village of Mukha all residents bore the surname Beldy.

The boy could not get used to the boarding school for a long time, and in 1943 he fled to the front. Cola hid in a box under the train car and it is not known where he would have arrived if the sailors had not found the teenager at one of the stations. The military took pity on the boy and took him with them to Vladivostok. Cola quickly got his bearings and ascribed to himself two years - this is how he got into the Pacific Fleet as a cabin boy. The guy stopped stuttering, and soon his colleagues heard the beautiful voice of a young colleague.

At first, Cola Beldy performed in amateur performances, and soon became a member of the song and dance team of the Pacific Fleet. The young man entered the music school and graduated from the institution as an external student. After receiving his diploma, Beldy continued to serve in the Navy, received several medals and the Order of the Patriotic War for the liberation of Korea. After demobilization, he decided to study music professionally. He entered the Saratov Conservatory, studied and worked at a factory, worked part-time at the city drama theater.

After the conservatory, Kola worked in the song and dance ensemble of the Voronezh military district, in the Kalinin and Khabarovsk philharmonic societies, but then he did not manage to rise above the level of a regional performer.

The "finest hour" in the creative biography of the Nanai nugget struck in 1957, when Kola Beldy became a laureate of a youth festival held in Moscow. The lovers got married already in Khabarovsk, when Olga was pregnant. The girl's last name was also Beldy, so she did not have to change her passport. In 1991, Kola had a daughter, Elena. Lena is the musician's only child. At first, the newlyweds lived in a hotel room, later the city administration allocated an apartment to the young family. Cola Beldy was a hospitable person, so the musician's friends and relatives often visited the house.

Cola Beldy died on December 21, 1993. In the morning, he went to the grocery store, where the singer took his heart. An ambulance was called, but the first team arrived only an hour later and turned out to be not cardiological. The second specialized car waited the same. The doctors were late - the singer's heart stopped. The musician died of a massive heart attack, 10 days before the New Year - a holiday that he loved so much. The musician was buried at the Central cemetery of Khabarovsk.

After the death of her husband, Olga became the organizer of the Kola Beldy public fund. The musician's widow herself turned out to be a creative nature: Olga devotes all her free time to painting, engaging in national crafts. Every year in Khabarovsk, Olga Belda's author exhibitions are held, which are popular with compatriots.
