Nikol Pashinyan

Nikol Pashinyan is a journalist, oppositionist, member of parliament, one of the authors of the “velvet revolution” in Armenia, held under the slogan “Take a step, reject Serge”. According to the “Elk” Union, a precedent of peaceful regime change has been created in the republic. Pashinyan, as the leader of the protest, promised that he would bring the victory to the end and achieve democratic changes, but at the same time revenge and shadow rule of any forces were excluded.

Nikol was born in Ijevan, a small town in the north-east of Armenia. In April 2018, a mass movement of dissatisfied with the election of former President Serzh Sargsyan to the post of Prime Minister began in Armenia. Pashinyan became the organizer of the protests and at a meeting with President Armen Sargsyan said that only Sargsyan's resignation could be the subject of discussion in possible negotiations.
