The future star of the production "Brothers and Sisters" was born in the city of Sovetskaya Gavan, Khabarovsk Territory on October 16, 1957. Since childhood, Natalya loved to perform: she participated in school performances, recited poetry. Already in the fifth grade, the girl took first place in the city reading competition. In an adventure tape about the events of the revolution, Natalya plays a resident of a village, into which whites are about to descend. Collaboration with the director continues in 1987. The third film by Khotinenko is released - a fantastic film-parable "Mirror for a Hero". Akimova again has the main female role. In 2007, the thriller "Cargo 200" directed by Alexei Balabanov was released. Many actors, after reading the script, refused to participate in the picture. This included Yevgeny Mironov, who, according to Balabanov's calculations, was supposed to play the maniac Zhurov. As a result, the role of a maniac policeman was played by Alexei Poluyan, and Natalya Akimova agreed to play Antonina, the on-screen wife of Alexei Serebryakov.

In subsequent years, Akimova played several episodic roles. In 2013, she starred in films twice: in the family film "Paradise for a Dog" and in one of the series of the domestic television movie "Sherlock Holmes".

The first spouse of Natalia Akimova was fellow student Andrei Krasko. The couple did not live together for long and broke up even before graduation.
