There is no state without an army, and if there is no state, we Bulgarians and especially the young are fucked everywhere.

   I graduated from the military school in Dolna Mitropolia - engineering profile. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and my parents didn't have the money to support me. After graduation, I served as an officer at a military airport for exactly 2 years, there were major redundancies in the army and I found myself on the stock exchange, despite the 10-year contract I had signed with the military. It seemed a great tragedy to me then, because the army is in the form of a commune and it seems to you that there is no life outside it. It turned out to be just the opposite. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thanks to my engineering education, I now have a very good and well-paid job, I don't want to hear more about the army, the military and epaulets. When I see them, I feel sorry for them. If your son is attracted to this profession, there is nothing to do. Don't stop him. Being an officer is not something shameful or unworthy.

   Someone has obviously influenced him, found a way to make him talk to students or graduates and already working, to know what awaits him. In principle, we, the parents, should not interfere in the children's choice, but we know them best and can give light guidance, at least to hear different points of view and make informed choices. I understand how you feel, but try well, give your opinion, give arguments, advice, etc., because it seems to me that this decision of your son is impulsive, temporary, superficial, and right now he must be aware with yourself and your true desires.    What kind of military school is this? The school in Simeonovo, in principle, is not a bad choice if it really attracts him and is able to meet the standards. In any case, it is good to find out who influenced him for this decision and whether there are any unrealistic expectations for his future profession - talk!

   Not bad, but the Bulgarian one is low paid and of poor quality. It is better to join a foreign, but NATO, that is, it will still be in an alliance with the Bulgarian army and a species will protect the homeland.

A big plus in the military is their social policy - they have great vacations and compensations. This is very difficult to achieve in the private sector. And yes sometimes money is not everything!

   What's wrong? If I have to quote a participant in a well-known TV format, the question "what did you do" was answered - "I did not work, I served". So ... there are advantages. It does not work, there are a lot of privileges (various discount cards, clothes, transportation), early retirement, etc. Well, another issue is that it is blunted. I have never seen a military man who is 100% sane. I'm not saying no, but I haven't seen it.

   Apart from simplicity and brainwashing, he will learn nothing in the army. I do not know any mentally stable military man, including my father.

   I don't know why your son decided to join the army, but he made a different impression on me. Are we accepted at the university? !! Did they accept you too? Usually this is what parents say, who insanely limit their children, control them completely and almost associate with them. So think about it. Isn't your son's wish connected with that? Kind of make a fool of you and say he's already deciding what to do with his life. In your place, instead of exploding and making dramas, I would talk to him seriously and most importantly, I would tell him that he has my support, whatever he decides to study! Yes, you may find his choice stupid, illogical, etc., but in the end you have to accept that he is already an adult and has the right to choose his own life. Yes, you as a father can advise, give an opinion, but not to control and decide for him. And this is true for his whole life. From choosing an education, through finding a job, all the way to choosing a partner. It's time to let your son grow up and decide for himself, but of course to be responsible for his own decision. From now on, you can only support and advise him, but he must make the decisions.

   WE ARE ACCEPTED ... Ha, ha. This is a boy, now a man, leave him and withdraw - to be more independent, to make his own choices for life and to bear the consequences, to build himself as a man, as a person ... Until now, you must have been breathing in the neck and you made decisions about everything for him. That's not good for him, think about it. I am also a parent of two grown-up children, but I have never said that about my son or daughter.

   In my opinion, the post is from a woman, this plural statement is typical for them, and usually a woman will go looking for wisdom in the forums for the military profession, men are aware enough. On the subject - the choice of the boy should be respected, as long as he knows the pros and cons and is not blind, years ago I did the same, despite the desire of my parents to study medicine. I did not stay long because of the changes in the country just then, but I do not regret for a moment my choice. To those who explain how stupid the military is, I will only say that in my time, if you do not have at least 5.50 diplomas and at least 4.50 exams, there is no entry, we fought 60 people for a place. Also - 70 percent of the things you use as equipment, including the Internet, were created by the military. This is usually said by mentally ill people who have bent over in the barracks. Yes ,

   Number 6, do not offend the Army and the schools, firstly it is not military, and secondly, the preparation is light years back. For reference - the police you see every day on the streets :)
