The reason why a person starts drinking is out of curiosity, to see what taste and aroma alcohol has. (The same goes for cigarettes). Then he tries another type of alcohol, another drink, to see both the experience and its taste. Yes, but alcoholic beverages are many types. By the time he has tried everything, he is getting used to alcohol, he is getting used to drinking. He wants to try again to enjoy again and again the taste and aroma of the drinks. Then again, after a while he starts to do it more often, he increases the doses a little, later he starts to drink regularly, every day, every night, he starts to like this taste, to enjoy it, he increases the doses and so on one day understands that without alcohol there can be no alcohol dependence. He is already an alcoholic! Systematic alcohol consumption, respectively, begins to ruin his health and the person slowly but surely, begins to degrade and go to the bottom. He loses his friends, then his job, he destroys his family, he loses his property, then his money, he is left alone with his favorite drink, which he cannot part with, until he finally becomes a wreck and a pathetic shiver. The picture becomes sad, pathetic, miserable and disgusting. Separating such a person with alcohol is a very, very difficult task. This can only happen if he shows a very strong desire and will to fight his vice. Such a person really needs treatment for alcohol dependence. Definitely, this treatment can only work, and if the person himself shows the will and desire to get rid of alcohol. There is even a society in Bulgaria called Alcoholics Anonymous. This is a society where people who were former alcoholics have recovered from this addiction and together have taken the path of sobriety. The bravest, most convinced and most strong-willed of them, reaped success and got rid of alcohol, returning to the happiness of sobriety. They try to help others as well. I have no experience in this area, but my advice is to dig on the Internet and read more about how to treat alcoholism. I recently came across an article about a drug called Alcostop. Type it in the search engine and you will read more about it. I don't know how old you are, do you have a father, but I think your mother has a serious reason for reaching this state, which makes her reach for the cup. She may not realize it, but I can't believe that if she's okay, she'll enjoy the alcohol itself. She just wants to forget something this way, but it's not a solution.
