Biography

The creativity of the Moralny Kodeks group is an excellent example of how talent and self-confidence help to combine the most incredible trends and techniques in creativity and at the same time achieve genuine success and popularity. The hits of this team "First Snow", "Night Caprice" and "Goodbye, Mom" are still popular, and the name of Sergei Mazayev, the leader of the group, is still heard by music lovers.

Creation and composition

The beginning of the biography of the Moralny Codex group is considered to be 1989, although at that time there was no familiar name or soloist Sergei Mazaev. The project began as another idea of musician and producer Pavel Zhagun.

Prior to that, Pavel managed to promote several successful groups, work with eminent Soviet pop stars, including the Prima Donna of the Russian-speaking show business Alla Pugacheva, and also "light up" on Ukrainian television.

This time, Zhagun wanted to create something special, to mix jazz, rock music, folklore and the sincerity of chanson into one. Oddly enough, such a risky interweaving of styles, as they say, went off. The perfectly matched line-up of the group also played a significant role in this: the musicians found a common language and became a truly harmonious organism.

Initially, Roman Ivasivko was to become the soloist of the new team, and the team was named "Diamond Hand". Ivasivko even recorded several compositions, but soon Pavel decided to replace the vocalist with Sergei Mazayev. At the same time, a new name appeared - "Moral Code". Daily rehearsals began and the selection of other musicians began.

Soon, Konstantin Smirnov, a virtuoso master of keyboards, as well as Alexander Solich (bass guitar), guitarist Nikolai Devlet-Kildeev (who took over the organizational aspects), drummer Igor Romashov, joined the "Moral Code".

There were also invited musicians - Mikhail Kulakov and Konstantin Gavrilov. With this line-up, the group recorded their first album, entitled "Concussion", and filmed the debut video for the song "I Love You".

Over time, some of the band members left the band, and some joined the group, but for the most part the lineup remained unchanged. Today, the "Moral Code" is the permanent soloist Sergei Mazaev, guitarist and songwriter Nikolai Devlet-Kildeev, drummer Yuri Kistenev, bassist Alexander Solich, Konstantin Smirnov, who still plays keyboards, and, of course, producer Pavel Zhagun.

Music

The very first disc, which appeared in 1991, made the musicians of the "Moral Code" famous. The songs from the first album of the group were so loved by the listeners that the concert tour that followed, allowed the team to gather full houses. A year later, producer Yuri Aizenshpis drew attention to the team.

Under his leadership, the "Moral Code" records several English-language songs, which were later collected in the disc "Moral code-x". This album was released in 1993 and was designed for the foreign scene. The disc was sold in Switzerland and some other European countries, but did not arouse the interest of foreign-language listeners.

But the record "Flexible Stan", released in 1996, caused a furor on the Russian-speaking scene. The compositions "Shukayu you" and "My dream is you" became hits for several months, and the video for the song "Night Caprice", which preceded the release of the album, even won the "Generation-95" prize. And in the same 1996 "Moral Code" received the "Star" music award and the title of the best rock band of the year.

In 1997, the group released another disc called "I choose you." The song of the same name, on which saxophonist Igor Butman and drummer Igor Slansky worked together with the "Moral Code", again presented the team with the leading lines of all kinds of chart lists and hit parades.

In general, the end of the 1990s can be called the "golden" era of the team. The Moral Code constantly toured, musicians were invited to perform at group concerts and TV programs, as well as in small clubs and houses of culture. The popularity of the collective grew, bringing new and new fans to Sergei Mazaev and the team of musicians.

And in 2000, the compositions of the "Moral Code" even sounded in the dramatic film "24 Hours" directed by Alexander Atanesyan (Andrei Panin, Maxim Sukhanov, Natalia Rogozhkina, Dmitry Dyuzhev starred in the film).

2001 was marked by the group's next disc, and two years later Sergey Mazaev and the band's musicians released an album of the best songs, giving this collection the traditional name "The Best".

It is noteworthy that the "Moral Code", initially taking a course on various styles of music, did not deviate from the chosen path. So, the team collaborated with completely different performers. For example, in 2003, fans were surprised by the composition "Sky", recorded by the group together with the collective "Disco Crash".

In addition, Sergei Mazaev at various times sang a duet with Natalia Vetlitskaya, Zhanna Friske, Alena Sviridova and other performers dissimilar to each other. And in 2007, "Moral Code" replenished the discography with the disc "Slavic Dances".

A year later, another collection of songs, already loved by fans, called "Where are you?" Appeared. Despite some changes in the line-up (some musicians joined the group for a short time, then left the band), "Moral Code" continued to tour and participate in group concerts, festivals and television filming. Finally, in 2014, after a break, the team presented another album - "Winter".
