Miguel Ferrer is an American film actor who gained popularity after the release of the cult action movie of the eighties - "Robocop". And yes, he is a cousin of an equally famous colleague in the acting workshop - George Clooney. But what can I say, his whole family followed in the footsteps of the great father (and he was the first child of five) and is filming to this day.

Probably, many would like to be in his place and be born in sunny Santa Monica, California. Miguel Ferrer was the firstborn son of a Puerto Rican émigré who later became an Oscar winner. His father Jose Ferrera was a popular actor in the 50s of the last century, repeatedly received nominations for all prestigious American awards. 

He became world famous when he played the main role in the film "Cyrano de Bergerac", for which he received not only an Oscar, but also a Golden Globe. Therefore, it is not surprising that the eldest of his children from his marriage to pop star Rosemary Clooney also decided to become an actor.

However, Miguel himself claims that as a child he dreamed of being a musician. He even took part in the recording of Keith Moon's album "Two Sides of the Moon", where he recorded his drum part. Nevertheless, in the future, genes played a role and hardly anyone later regretted this. His acquaintance from the music group “Generators” recommended the young guy to the producers of the TV project “Sunshine”.

In the cult series "Twin Peaks" by the American director David Lynch (which, by the way, will receive its sequel in 2017, but, unfortunately, already without Miguel), he played the role of a low-maintenance agent, a forensic scientist from the FBI. The image of the character was so well written in the script that it allowed Miguel to become a favorite of fans of the series around the world.

The character of his hero was far from a gift, and his bad manners regularly provoked the outrage of others. Nevertheless, after one incident with the sheriff, when the cynical agent Albert asked himself "in the face", the hero seemed to be changed, he suddenly changed. That, in turn, could not but please the audience, who love such plot twists. Subsequently, Miguel was also noted for his participation in the prequel film "Twin Peaks", which premiered in 1992 in Cannes.

Among other successful works of the actor, one can recall the shooting in one of the best films of 2000, "Traffic", which he helped to win as many as four Oscars, and the actor's ensemble - an award from the Screen Actors Guild. The cast there really was notable: the director Steven Soderbergh managed to get the leading roles of such "monsters" of Hollywood as Michael Douglas, Benicio Del Toro, Catherine Zeta-Jones. And the list goes on. And not long before that there was a role in Tony Scott's lyric drama "Revenge".

Shooting in films was far from the only occupation of the talented Miguel Ferrer, who was noted for his participation in television shows, in dubbing cartoons, and video games. In particular, for one of these works, he received a Grammy nomination in 1999 - his voice was recognized as one of the best. Also, the actor managed to light up in the theatrical production "Justified".

The amazing versatility of Miguel's talent allowed him to release a series of comics (Comet Man), the writing of which was helped by his already mentioned friend, Will Robinson. And as a filmmaker, Miguel noted on the set of the television series "Investigation Jordan". In 2005, he directed several episodes on his own in the fifth season.

Miguel here followed in the footsteps of his father, because, like him, he was married three times in his life. From his first marriage with film actress Leilani Sarel, he left two heirs, and from the second with Keith Dornan - one. In 2005, he married film producer Lori Ventraub for the third time, this time making his final choice. He lived with his wife until his death

Among Miguel's hobbies, one could notice practicing an aristocratic sport - golf, in which he also excelled as an organizer of tournaments.
