Miesha Teresa Tate is an American athlete, MMA fighter, winner of UFC and Strikeforce awards and one of the brightest representatives of her weight category. Although Tate left professional sport in 2016, she is still an iconic figure in women's MMA.

Miesha Tate was born in Tacoma, Washington, on August 18, 1986. As a child, the girl communicated more with boys, and when at school decided to do sports, for a while thought about basketball, but eventually went to the fight section, where she also trained with boys. The effort yielded results - in 2005 she won the state championship.

After school, Misha enrolled at Central Washington University, and at that time her friend persuaded the girl to start MMA. By this point, her main fighting style was Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The acquaintance with Brian Karevei, the head of the club, led to the fact that the athlete is still engaged with him.

Misha began her biography in mixed martial arts with an amateur career and, before entering the professional ring, won 5 victories against one defeat.
