Biography
Rebel Wilson - one of the few actresses who came from a distant Australian continent to conquer Hollywood and achieved its goal. And certainly one of the units that turned their extra pounds into millions of dollars. Thanks to her unconventional figure (weight 107 kg, 159 cm tall), splashing over the edge of charisma and sparkling sense of humor, Wilson quickly found herself in the comedy genre, becoming the star of such films as "The Perfect Voice", "The Bachelorette" and "Girl in Vegas".
fact
Childhood and adolescence
Rebel Wilson, born Melanie Elizabeth Bounds (later the star took her mother's maiden name and first name given to her at birth), was born on March 2, 1980, in Sydney. The Bounds family was considered to have many children: Rebel has two sisters, Liberty and Anneliese, and a brother, Rayot. Parents earned on bread breeding dogs breed beagle, as well as selling products for four-legged pets.
Being plump and clumsy, the girl was terribly complex and was so timid that parents were not in earnest alarmed for her further social adaptation. Then the mother took her daughter to the children's school of acting.
The transformation of a shy fat girl into a confident girl occurred at the age of 14. Rebel realized that "before it's too late, it's time to become a person," and not without help.
The future actress attended an Anglican boarding school for girls, and Mrs. Bowmaker's teacher encouraged her to participate in a creative competition that required debate and improvisation skills. The artist still thanks her mentor in all interviews:
In 1997, Wilson received a certificate of school graduation, joined the International Youth Exchange Program (Rotary) and went to South Africa. Here in Tanzania, Rebel had malaria. The bouts of illness caused her hallucinations, in which the future actress saw herself taking the stage for the Oscars.
Back home, Rebel was adamant about the path she would take. She enrolled at the University of South Wales (after graduating in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in theatre and law) and began studying acting at the Australian Youth Theatre.

Films (Creativity)
In the theater Rebel made her first acting steps. At first she wanted to be a dramatic actress.
In 2002, she made her debut as a screenwriter, writing a screenplay for the musical The Westie Monologues, in which she herself played. In 2003, she won a scholarship from the theater, established once by her famous countryman Nicole Kidman, and went to New York. Here in the U.S., she began collaborating with the famous comedy theater "The Second City", trying herself in the genre of comedian-sketches.
Returning to Australia, Rebel began to work actively as an actress, screenwriter and producer. She played a bright role for Tula in Pizza, took part in the popular Australian TV shows "The Wedge" and "Australian Idol", starred in the episodic roles in the films "Fat Pizza" (2003) and "Ghost Rider" (2007).
Since 2008, the actress has been the number one star on Australian television. She played in the comedy musical "Proud Fat Man" shown on SBS One. A year later she won the Tropfest Award for Best Actress (The Deal). Having felt the strength to conquer the new peaks, 30-year-old Rebel moved to West Hollywood and immediately signed a contract with the agency "William Morris Endeavor." The first role to be cast in "Dream Factory" was Brynny's image in "Girl in Vegas." The painting was a great commercial success (collected $288 million), making the image of the fat Brynny widely known.
And almost immediately Wilson was showered with suggestions: the girl topped up the Australian filmography, playing in the film "The Wedding Smash" (2012), and also starred in the American tapes "Lightning Strike" (2012), "What to expect when you wait for a child" (2012). But most importantly - she agreed to shoot in the films "The Bachelorette" (2012) and "The Perfect Voice" (2012), leading roles in which brought her megapopularity.

And the musical comedy "Perfect Voice," where Wilson played one of the vocalists of the girl group "Barden's Bella", became so popular that there were also sequels: "The Perfect Voice 2" (2015) and "The Perfect Voice-3" (2017). And the star of all three parts was Rebel Wilson. Moreover, for this role, the actress was awarded the MTV Channel Award in the categories "Breakthrough of the Year" and "Best Musical Moment".
In between filming "The Voice" the actress does not sit without a job, starring exclusively with hollywood stars. So, in 2014, she played the cheerful watchman Kimmy in the film "Night at the Museum 3" with Ben Stiller. In 2016, in an actor's tandem with Dakota Johnson starred in the film "In Active Search", and also shone in his favorite comedy genre - in the film "Brothers from Grimsby."
In the same year, the media wrote about the incredible weight loss of the actress. Proof of this was a photo from the wedding of "Perfect Voice" stars Anna Camp and Skylar Estina, where "Amy's fat girl" appeared in a stylish pink dress.

In May of the same year, Wilson announced an affair with comedian Mickey Gootch Jr. The couple's relationship lasted four months.
