Maxim Okunev

Ufa performer Basic Boy, or Maxim Igorevich Okunev, is the author of compositions in the style of alternative hip-hop. It is part of a creative association that was created by fellow countrymen and colleagues and was conceived as a Russian analogue of the Odd Future and ASAP Mob groups.

In high school, Maxim was professionally engaged in creating graffiti and once got into the police for writing in a nearby yard. Parents appreciated the son's skill and did not create a scandal, and he created a series of images based on his favorite video game.

In 2010, the guy took part in competitions that brought together fans of all types of graphic arts. There he met Gleb Reshetnev, who was an aspiring musician, and after a while founded a creative union with him.

After the 3rd release of mixtapes, Maxim took up a solo career and, in collaboration with Reshetnev, released his debut mini-album. It took advantage of the experience of working with rappers such as Tveth and Jeembo, and came up with ideas borrowed from Thomas Mraz and Pharaoh.
