The guys are fascinated by new directions - soul, hip-hop, R&B. In a word, they return to their native Los Angeles, literally experiencing catharsis, and full of new plans to play, create, compose.

Having revived the former line-up of the four, the guys reinforce it with a new member James Valentine and change the name. Now they are Maroon 5, and the line-up looks like this: Jesse Carmichael - keys, Mickey Madden - bass, Ryan Dusik - drums, James Valentine - guitar and Adam Levine - vocals. It was 2001.

Inspired by their successes, the band members create a new album It Won't Be Soon Before Long with the title track makes Me Wonder, which is released in 2007 and immediately sold out in a record number of copies.
