Biography

Marina Shimanskaya is a Soviet and Spanish theater and film actress who became famous in the early 1980s thanks to the romantic comedy Take Care of Women, the film-disaster "The Thirty-Fourth Ambulance" and the film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's story "A stranger's wife and husband under the bed."

Biography of Marina Shimanskaya begins on October 27, 1955. The future artist was born into a family of ordinary people who had nothing to do with cinema or any other kind of art. By the way, the girl's father, Mechislav Iosifovich, experienced a real family grief in his time: during the Stalinist repressions, all the relatives of the men were shot because they were from a Polish aristocratic family, and the guy himself was sent to places not so distant for a long time.

The girl's parents met in the camps near Saratov. Dad sat there for seven years, and mom worked as a nurse. Before this marriage, Mechislav Iosifovich had a family, his wife was expecting a child. But when the man was imprisoned, the woman refused him.

As a result, Marina was born in a settlement where the baby's father was allowed to live after the camp. The artist still remembers the barracks with long corridors and tiny rooms. The girl learned that her beloved father was sitting when she found an official letter that came a few years after the death of Joseph Stalin. In it, the man was apologized for the mistake, he is not an "enemy of the people." The Shimansky family never remembered the past. The topic of the camp was closed for discussion forever.

Marina turned out to be an athletic child. She was involved in athletics and constantly went to training camps in Sochi.

Even as a preschool girl, Shimanskaya became seriously interested in the visual arts. At first, the girl drew with a pencil, then with paints, and she succeeded in this lesson. Parents sent their daughter to an art school, and she planned to devote her life to painting. In addition to the art school, Marina took private drawing lessons from the artist Kira Gavrilova.

But in high school, Shimanskaya began to actively participate in school amateur performances. Not a single student performance was ignored by the girl, strengthening her love for the stage. As a result, the biography of Marina Shimanskaya directly contacted the acting profession after the future star decided to enter the theater institute. But Marina did not stop drawing, she just does it for the soul.

Initially, Shimanskaya went to study acting at the Saratov Theater School, where Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation Georgy Bannikov and People's Artist of the USSR Rimma Belyakova became the leaders. Then Shimanskaya left for Moscow and became a student at the State Institute of Theater Arts named after A.V. Lunacharsky. On the course of Oleg Tabakov, the girl met and made friends with another future star - Elena Mayorova.

After graduating from the university, Marina played for many years at the Moscow Hermitage Theater, and in 1991 she moved to the troupe of the Studio Theater under the direction of Oleg Tabakov, but served in it for only one season. The reason for leaving was the personal life of Marina Shimanskaya.

Movies

The film debut of the aspiring actress took place when the girl just started to study at GITIS. Shimanskaya got the role of a teacher-trainee Lydia Nikolaevna in a light teenage film "When I become a giant." The picture was a great success, and after that Marina received one proposal after another. But the actress regularly rejected scripts, obeying the teachers and focusing on her studies.

Shimanskaya returned to the set only in her last year of study and created a spectacular and memorable image of Katrin in the historical adventure film "Squadron of Flying Hussars". The actress was able to show the character from two sides: both as the flirtatious and frivolous daughter of a landowner, who turned his head to Denis Davydov himself, and as a patriot, demonstrating loyalty to Russia during the attack of Napoleon's army.

But the most famous films by Marina Shimanskaya are the romantic comedy “Take care of women”, where Andrei Gradov and Igor Sklyar still shone and songs performed by Yuri Antonov, and the film-disaster about the railway accident “Thirty-fourth speedy”. It is interesting that more than two dozen actresses auditioned for the role of the newlywed Raya in this film, but the director was not satisfied with something every time. When the director saw Marina, doubts were instantly dispelled: the artist perfectly understood the psychology and manners of her heroine.

After the images of the captain of the tugboat "Cyclone" Lyuba and the bride Raya Shimanskaya became one of the most beloved Russian artists and even appeared on the cover of the magazine "Soviet Screen" for 1981, which was considered one of the highest manifestations of recognition.

This success was followed by the youth comedy "The morning is wiser than the evening" and the light melodrama "Cult trip to the theater". Then there was the social drama "They Can't Choose Parents" with Andrei Smolyakov, the children's humorous film "This Scoundrel Sidorov" with the young Vladislav Galkin, the fantastic comedy "The Comic Lover, or Sir John Falstaff's Love Endeavors" with the masters of cinema Anatoly Papanov and Evgeny Evstigneev.

In subsequent years Shimanskaya helped create the melodrama Happy, Zhenya! with Elena Tsyplakova and the adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's comedy story "Another's Wife and Husband Under the Bed" with magnificent actors Oleg Efremov and Marina Neyolova.

Having starred in the lyrical comedy "Near You", Shimanskaya disappeared from the screens for a long time. Until 2004, the woman avoided film sets and made an exception only for her Spanish friends, who decided to create a short film "Man Without Man".

Having again felt a taste for acting, Marina Shimanskaya supplemented her filmography with the melodrama "Winner" and the historical and biographical television series "Duels". And if in her youth the actress had to demonstrate bright beauties on the screen, now she threw out the character of her heroines on the viewer: the rural provincial Svetlana and Natalia Sedova, the wife of Leon Trotsky.

In 2012, Marina's daughter Olga and the girl's husband Nikita Tikhonov-Rau filmed the film "Out". Shimanskaya took part in the project as a voice actress. An autistic girl speaks in the voice of the artist.

Personal life

The comedy "Take care of women" not only brought popularity, but also changed the personal life of Marina Shimanskaya. On the set, the girl met her future husband - actor Algis Arlauskas, whom the audience should remember perfectly from the film "Sportloto-82" by Leonid Gaidai. At the same time, actor Andrei Rostotsky was courting the young artist, but the girl was already in love with Algis and did not notice Andrei's signs of attention.

A spark of love ran between Shimanskaya and Arlauskas, which grew into a great feeling, and as a result, Algis made a marriage proposal to Marina. Almost immediately, the couple had a daughter, Olga, and nine years later, a son, Alexander.

In the early 1990s, Russian cinematography fell into silence. Marina Shimanskaya's husband immigrated to Spain, as he was half Lithuanian, half Spanish. He even had real estate in the Basque country, inherited from his maternal grandfather, in Bilbao.

Daughter Olga also left with her father, and Marina took her little son to relatives in Saratov and continued to tour with the theater of Oleg Tabakov. But at some point, the woman realized that, for the sake of half-empty auditoriums, she was giving up her loved ones: her husband and children. The artist quit the troupe, took her son Alexander and also moved to Spain.

In Bilbao, Shimanskaya learned Spanish and, together with Algis Arlauskas, created her own professional school, where she trains young actors and screenwriters. Moreover, Marina herself teaches in the acting class.

In 2013, a gap occurred between the actress and her husband, and Marina Shimanskaya's personal life changed. The spouses tried to improve relations, even turned to a professional psychologist, but he could not help, announcing that they had seen different goals for themselves for a long time. As a result, the husband and wife parted, Arlauskas went to another woman - Marina's Spanish friend. But the actress holds no grudge against either Algis or the man's new darling, although she painfully endured her husband's departure. By the way, since Shimanskaya did not file for divorce, she officially still remains the wife of Algis Arlauskas.

On the net you can find many photos taken during a happy married life.

The daughter of the artist Olga became a director. The girl lives in Moscow. She is married to Nikita Tikhonov-Rau. Together with her husband, Olga created a film studio. And the son of Marina Alexander remained to live in the city of Bilbao.

In 2016, the artist was invited to the Let Them Talk program. Then Shimanskaya frankly admitted that for some time after her husband left, she could not leave the house.

In one interview, the actress shared that she had a bad impression of the creator and director of Tabakerka, Oleg Tabakov. The woman more than once regretted that she agreed to play with Oleg Pavlovich.

Once a friend of Marina - actor Igor Nefedov - had a trouble. The man got confused in family relationships, and there were still problems with money. But when the troupe was on tour in Japan, Tabakov removed Igor from the role. Then Nefedov had to somehow live in a foreign country for a month.

After returning to his homeland, the artist was not paid the fee, and then the head of "Tabakerka" removed the actor from the role in the play "Mechanical Piano", without giving a reason. Shortly thereafter, Igor Nefedov committed suicide.

In the same conversation, Marina said that Oleg Tabakov did not exist for her.
