Biography
Equipped with a CAP, Marc Barbé leaves France to live in the United States where he works as a carpenter. After ten years spent on the other side of the Atlantic, he returned to France as a translator of novels and plays before starting an acting career. He made his debut on the screen in 1993 playing a drug addict poet in Gérard Mordillat's In company of Antonin Artaud, alongside Sami Frey. Three years later, he made a small appearance in The Scream of Silk by Yvon Marciano. In 1998, he made a decisive encounter for his career in the person of Philippe Grandrieux. With Sombre, the filmmaker offers him the role of a serial killer who can not help but kill the women he wants. Four years later,
Between his appearances in the theater and on television, the actor obtains the main role of Paddy alongside Julie Gayet and Trois Eight in which he plays the violent Fred who harasses Gerald Laroche at his workplace. Then in 2004, he starred in Pourquoi (pas) Brazil ?, a mise en abyme of the director's profession according to Laetitia Masson. The actor continues to tour regularly and obtains a supporting role in two big French productions released in 2007. He is Raymond Asso in La Môme, the biopic dedicated to Edith Piaf by Olivier Dahan, and the boorish Captain Berthaut in L'Ennemi intimate friend of Florent Emilio Siri. The quality of these two interpretations will be confirmed the following year by his participation in the police series Flics d ' Olivier Marchal and in Coupable by Laetitia Masson with Jérémie Renier. He reunited with the actor in 2012 for another biopic, Cloclo.
While he is more used to dark and tortured roles like that of a father who abandons his family in Gamines or that of Vargas in the provocative Night of Dogs, the director Samuel Collardey offers him to play as a sports trainer helping to a young Senegalese in Comme un lion (2013).
