Biography
Raised in the Paris region, Malik Chibane, of Kabyle origin, was first an electronics engineer and a lighting engineer trainee. Very quickly, he launched himself into the seventh art by founding Idriss, a socio-cultural association which allowed him, in 1993, to start Hexagone. In this first feature film in the form of a social chronicle, Chibane features five young Arabs in the city that was his when he was young.
In 1995, he signed Douce France, this time in professional conditions, which allowed him to continue in the register of social comedy by recounting the journey of two young people seizing a booty to fulfill their dream. After a Nes somewhere (1997) that went somewhat unnoticed, Malik Chibane took a long break and returned to the spotlight in 2004 with Voisins, Voisines, a comedy which brings together Frédéric Diefenthal, Anémone and Jackie Berroyer.
