Biography
Maxim Stavisky is a Russian and Bulgarian athlete, well known to fans of figure skating and fans of the Ice Age TV show.
Maxim Stavisky was born in Rostov-on-Don in November 1977. He grew up and was brought up in an intelligent Jewish family. Mom Rachel Ioffe is an engineer by training and the author of many scientific works in the field of radio broadcasting. Father Evgeny Stavisky is also an engineer. He worked as a research assistant at one of the Moscow research institutes.
There were many famous and respected doctors among the relatives of Maxim Stavisky. His paternal grandfather is one of the most respected military surgeons. His uncle is a candidate of medical sciences, he worked at the department of the Rostov Medical Institute. But Maxim chose a different path in life.
At the age of 4, his mother took her son to the skating rink so that the boy would get good physical development. But for Maxim, skating has become not just a favorite sport, but the meaning of his life. Even a serious injury that happened at school age (a broken leg) did not make Stavisky turn off the chosen road. After the break, the young skater put in a lot of effort to return to the ice and regain its former shape.
Max's first partner at the rink was Anastasia Belova.

Figure skating
Until 2006, the sports biography of Maxim Stavisky was associated with Russian sports. The skater played for his country. But after the collapse of the duet with Belova, he had a new partner - Bulgarian Albena Denkova. Stavisky went to Sofia to train with her. To represent Bulgaria, he had to change his citizenship.
The successes were not long in coming. The couple confidently took more and more peaks. Together with Albena, Stavisky became the tenfold champion of Bulgaria.
After moving to Moscow, the couple began to train Alexei Gorshkov. But after the World Championships, which took place in Moscow in 2005, the skaters went to the United States. Now their mentors were Natalya Linichuk and Gennady Karponosov. The athletes became world champions twice. And they also have 3 Olympics on their account.
However, on the rise of his career, Maxim Stavisky announced that he intends to leave the big sport. The cause was a car accident that happened through the fault of the skater in Bulgaria. Stavisky exceeded the speed limit and drove a Hummer into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a car in which a young couple was traveling. The driver, a 21-year-old boy, died on the spot, and the 18-year-old girl never came out of a coma.
The lengthy litigation ended with a rather lenient sentence - a 2.5-year suspended sentence and material compensation to the injured party. Such a mild punishment did not suit the injured party. Three months after the first trial, the Burgas city prosecutor's office decided to file a protest demanding that the conditional sentence be replaced with a real one, as well as increase payments to the families of the victims.
The protest was rejected, and the court's decision remained original, but the city's prosecutor's office continued to insist on toughening the punishment and in mid-2008 filed a petition to appeal the verdict to the Supreme Court of Bulgaria. By the end of this year, by the decision of the Supreme Court of Cassation of Bulgaria, the figure skater's case was returned for further investigation.
In early 2009, the prosecution was able to achieve what they wanted: the Court of Appeal amended the original decision and sentenced the defendant to 2.5 years of real imprisonment, and also raised payments by € 35,000 in favor of the girl in a coma and by € 30,000 in favor of the parents the deceased young man.
But this time, the athlete's lawyers have already filed an appeal, stating that they do not agree with the harsher sentence. Only by the middle of the same year, the Supreme Court of Cassation of Bulgaria made a final decision, which became a confirmation of the original court decision. As a result of all the lawsuits, the athlete escaped prison, but the scandalous lawsuit, which lasted two years, affected the athlete's career.
The acuteness of the scandal was given by the fact that 1.29 ppm of alcohol was found in the blood of Maxim Stavisky. At the same time, at the time of the accident, the skater was the face of the Bulgarian TV advertisement “I don’t drink while driving”.
After the skaters left professional sports, they moved to Moscow. They are often invited to participate in the popular Ice Age TV show.
In 2008, Stavisky skated with Tatyana and Olga Arntgolts. In 2009 he performed with Alisa Grebenshchikova, and in 2013 the actress Ekaterina Shpitsa became his partner.
In 2016, viewers saw Maxim Stavisky on the ice with Natalya Medvedeva, a former member of the Comedy Club.
In addition to the project, the skater works as a coach. Together with Alexander Zhulin, he prepares the French dance pair Nathalie Pechal-Fabian Bourza.
fact
Personal life
According to Maksim Stavisky, they did not immediately have feelings with their future wife Albena Denkova. They grew into love after a long partnership at the rink and a strong friendship. The skater claims that he and Albena are completely different. But the attraction arose on the principle of “minus and plus attract”. Maxim is cheerful and lively, and his half is serious and responsible.
Thanks to Ilya Averbukh, the Stavisky-Denkova couple constantly participates in all Ilya's projects that are aired on Channel One.
The birth of the baby Maxim and Albena had been planning for a long time, but their constant employment did not allow them to be “distracted”.
A joyful event happened in 2011. Albena lived in Sofia during the last months of her pregnancy. Maxim often visited his beloved. The boy was born in January and received the name Daniel. He immediately became the main member of the family, holding it together tightly. Busy parents often come to the aid of grandparents, the parents of Maxim Staviskiy. The athletes do not spread about whether the couple is planning more children.
In general, the couple does not seek to advertise their personal life, and the athlete, although he says in an interview that being a father is "cool", does not share regular news and photos from everyday life on social networks and Instagram, as many celebrities often do.
fact
Maxim Stavisky now
At the beginning of 2018, Stavisky, together with his permanent partner Albena Denkova, took part in a new performance by Ilya Averbukh, which was named Together and Forever.
The ice performance received a highly social and even political theme, the director dedicated the show to the 2018 Winter Olympics, or rather to the scandal that unfolded around them and the unfair deprivation of Russian athletes from participating in this competition, for which many of them had been preparing for years.
The participants in the show, many in the past Olympic champions or champions of Europe and the world, also turned out to be not alien to this problem, sharing the experiences of their colleagues. In addition to the pair of Stavisky and Denkova, Alexey Yagudin, the champion of Russia, Evgeny Kuznetsov, as well as a number of established couples, took part in the new show: Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin, Maria Petrova and Alexey Tikhonov, Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas, and even Tatyana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin. although the fans did not expect the participation of the last couple after Tatyana's recent injury.
The show "Together and Forever" received a busy touring schedule. The skaters performed in St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Saratov, Tula, Perm, Vladivostok and other cities of Russia, and also took to the ice of the Armeets Sofia arena in Bulgaria.
