Biography
Macaulay Culkin was born the third to a family of seven living in New York City. He first appeared on screen at the age of 8 alongside Burt Lancaster in the intimate drama The Rock of Gibraltar (1988). Quickly taking the taste of film sets, he participated in two films in 1989, Uncle Buck and A Tomorrow My Love directed by Alan J. Pakula before exploding in the family comedy Mum, I missed the plane (1990) . In just one movie, he manages to become Hollywood's new darling of the 90s and earns a staggering salary. The film being a global cardboard, Culkin won a nomination for the Golden Globes in 1991. Highly requested and having to manage his sudden notoriety, he appeared in no less than three films in the
Far from his usual roles which made him a child star, he accepted, in 1993, to play a disturbing psychopath under the direction of Joseph Ruben in the thriller The Good Son before observing a long slump from 1994 while continuing to make people talk about him in the people sections (drug use, divorce, financial setbacks, etc ...).
Illustrating himself on the boards in London and Broadway, he made his comeback to the cinema, after almost ten years of silence, in the Christ comedy Saved! (2005).
