Biography
Soviet theater and film actress, teacher, People's Artist of Russia Polishchuk Lyubov Georgievna was born in 1949 in Omsk into an ordinary working-class family. The mother of the future actress worked as a seamstress, and her father was engaged in construction. During her school years, the girl was actively involved in dancing and music. She attended a local music school, performed at concerts and participated in all kinds of music competitions.
Then the future screen star did not think about an acting career, she wanted to become a singer. At the age of sixteen, Lyuba went to Moscow to enter the All-Russian Creative Workshop of Variety Art. The girl had to spend three days at the metropolitan station and eat at local canteens. Soon the applicant was admitted to the school and was given a room in the hostel.

Movies
After graduating from a creative workshop in 1967, Lyubov Polishchuk, together with her husband Valery Makarov, returned back to Omsk. Young professionals quickly found work at the local philharmonic society. Lyuba and Valery performed as artists of the spoken genre. They put on various playful scenes, read comic monologues. The texts for them were written by Marian Belenky. It was thanks to him that Polishchuk made her debut as an actress.
The writer invited the talented artist to perform at the Moscow Music Hall. Polishchuk agreed, and she was invited to play a role in the production of "The Red Arrow Arrives in Moscow." From that moment on, the actress began a new life. The performances of the Moscow Music Hall were so popular that the troupe toured for eleven months a year. It was then that the young actress learned what real fame is.
Having become famous in theatrical circles, the artist decided to conquer the world of cinema. The debut of the actress took place in 1974 in the film "Starling and Lyra" by G. Alexandrov. After this film, Polishchuk was invited only for episodic roles for a long time.
Fame knocked on the door after the legendary painting "12 Chairs", where Lyubov performed a famous dance with the main character, played by Andrei Mironov.
In parallel with filming a movie, the actress performed on the stage of the Hermitage Theater, and in the early 80s moved to the Moscow Theater of Miniatures. While in the cinema the actress's career did not develop very rapidly, in the theater Lyubov Polishchuk became a real star.
In 1985, the actress graduated from GITIS in absentia and continued her acting career. In the early nineties she was invited to the "School of the modern play", where Polishchuk worked for seven years.
The real nationwide recognition came to the actress after her role in the film "Intergirl". Elena Yakovleva played the main role in the film. Many actresses auditioned for this role, and Yakovlev was initially declared inappropriate in format, unnecessarily thin, but, in the end, was considered an ideal candidate. Actresses for other key roles - Lyubov Polishchuk, Anastasia Nemolyaeva, Irina Rozanova and Ingeborga Dapkunaite - were approved the first time. The role in the film, according to many film critics, became the best work in the creative biography of Lyubov Polishchuk.
A year later, a picture was released about another difficult relationship history, where Love had already played a major role. In the two-part film Love with Privileges, Polishchuk played the role of a woman who married a party leader, a man much older than herself. The heroine of the actress learned that it was her husband who was once responsible for the execution of her father, and was unable to continue the relationship with him. The role of a high-ranking husband was played by Vyacheslav Tikhonov.
During her acting career, the actress has played eighty-nine roles in films such as "Wild Wind", "The Secret of the Blackbirds", "Still Munchausen", "Valentine's Day" and many others. For her contribution to the development of Soviet art, Polishchuk received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, and in 1994 she became People's Artist of Russia.
One of the most striking contemporary roles of Polishchuk was the role in "My Fair Nanny". The plot of the comedy series was based on the American sitcom Nanny. The main character is Vika Prutkovskaya, whose role was played by Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, a girl from a poor family who accidentally became a nanny in the house of a successful music producer. The classic story of Cinderella was overgrown with comedic moments and stretched out for several seasons due to the fact that the prince - producer Maxim Shatalin, who was embodied on the screen by Sergei Zhigunov - turned out to be a widower, a convinced bachelor and the father of three children.
In parallel with the main love line, the relationship developed at first, intolerant of each other, Zhanna Izhevskaya, the financial director at Shatalin's firm, played by Olga Prokofieva, and the butler Konstantin, whose role was played by the charismatic Boris Smolkin. A special humorous effect was created by the contrast between Vika's relatives and the family of her employer.
Lyubov Polishchuk played the main character's mother, a loud-voiced, active woman without complexes, who quite often and without invitation appeared in Shatalin's house. This series became the last film work of the actress.

Personal life
The actress was married twice. Her first husband was Valery Makarov, with whom they got married in 1967. They did not live in marriage for long, in 1972 the couple separated. By that time, the artist was pregnant. She gave birth to a son, Alexei Makarov, but Valery practically did not communicate with him. As Makarov Jr. recalls, he saw his father only a couple of times. When he grew up, he wanted to find him, but did not find him, it turned out that the man was no longer alive.
With her second husband, animal artist Sergei Tsigal, the actress met at the Moscow Theater of Miniatures. And in 1985, the couple had a daughter, Marietta Tsigal-Polishchuk. Sergei was literally inseparable from Lyubov, he supported the actress from the first day of acquaintance to the last. The children of the actress, both son and daughter, followed in the footsteps of their mother. Alexey Makarov has become a famous actor, Marietta also acts in films and works on television and radio.
When Alexey Makarov found out about his mother's illness, he refused all roles and spent every day with her, hoping for a miracle. For the actor, the death of his mother was a real blow, Lyubov Polishchuk meant a lot to him, because she herself raised Lesha, always supported and understood him.
In 2014, the actor dramatically and greatly lost weight, Alexei suddenly lost about 20 kg, his friends and colleagues could not immediately recognize the actor. Fans immediately worried that a serious illness had become the cause of Alexei's thinness, rumors appeared about a predisposition to oncology, but Makarov quickly denied all the gossip, telling the press that he himself had decided to put himself in order and lose weight.

Sickness and death
In March 2006, we finished filming the final episode of the sixth season of My Fair Nanny, and in November Lyubov Georgievna passed away.
The actress was diagnosed with spinal sarcoma. The disease developed after a serious back injury that Lyubov received in a serious car accident in 2000. There is a popular version that the disease could have arisen due to an injury during the filming of the episode "The Twelve Chairs", in which the hero of Mironov throws Polishchuk on the floor (supposedly the safety mattresses were laid incorrectly). But, according to director Mark Zakharov, this is impossible, because the artist started having back problems immediately after the car accident.
The actress was treated in several clinics and went through many painful procedures. Doctors from the Botkin Hospital, the A.V. Institute of Surgery fought for Polishchuk's health. Vishnevsky and the Institute of Surgery named after N.N. Burdenko. During one of the operations, a part of the spine was removed and implants were inserted. The rehabilitation course was so successful that Polishchuk allowed him to return to the set for a short time.
The improvement turned into a new crisis - in the summer of 2006, the artist almost stopped leaving the house. Despite all the efforts, Lyubov Georgievna was practically bedridden, and her life was accompanied by such excruciating pains that doctors were forced to prescribe her narcotic pain relievers.
On November 28, 2006 at 06.00, the actress died. Lyubov Polishchuk left quietly, in a dream. In the morning, the relatives could not wake up the artist, who first fell into a coma, and then stopped breathing. The immediate cause of death was a hypertensive crisis.
Farewell to the actress took place in the Moscow House of the Actor. Many of Polishchuk's friends and colleagues came to the funeral of the amazing artist, but there were no partners in the TV series "My Fair Nanny" with whom she had warm relations. The film crew at that time was on the Black Sea coast. This act upset the fans, who felt that for the sake of honoring the memory of Polishchuk, it was worth stopping work and flying to Moscow.
The grave of the actress is located at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow. In 2007, Lyubov Polishchuk became the People's Artist of Karelia, this title was awarded to her posthumously. In 2009, a monument was erected on the grave: a column with a crystal bust depicting Lyubov Georgievna in her youth. Fans note that the monument is as if woven from fog.
