Biography

“Church rat, bespectacled man, biscuit in a hat” - this is about her, Lyudmila Dmitrieva, who played a strange and eccentric lady Suzanne Brissard. The starring role in the comedy "Look for a Woman" has become the actress's calling card.

Childhood and youth

Lyudmila Borisovna Dmitrieva was born in the capital in the summer of 1947. There were no artists in her family, which did not stop her from dreaming of an acting profession. In graduation class, Lyudmila shared with her mother her plans to enter a theater university, to which her mother said bluntly:

She did not dare to disobey Dmitrieva. Having received a school certificate, she entered the evening department of the Textile Institute. During the day, the girl worked in a design research institute, and in the evening she hurried to classes at the institute.

Lyudmila Dmitrieva dreamed of acting so much that fate heard her and gave her a chance. A theater studio worked at the textile university. It was directed by the artist Leonid Persiyaninov, who served in the Theater of the Soviet Army. In her third year student Dmitrieva decided to look at the light. Leonid Nikolaevich invited the girl to read an excerpt of her choice. Dmitrieva read Katerina's monologue from the play "The Thunderstorm" so heartfelt that she burst into tears. Persiyaninov said: "I believe!" - and invited an aspiring artist to classes.

Lyudmila Dmitrieva, as her mother wanted, graduated from a textile university and entered the Moscow Art Theater School. Her future husband Boris Ardov, a theater actor in which he served with Persiyaninov, and Alexei Batalov's brother, helped the girl prepare for the exams. He supplied the girl he liked with textbooks, selected excerpts, taught to recite fables.

In 1975, Dmitrieva received a diploma in higher theater education. In the same year, Lyudmila was admitted to the Moscow Art Theater, where the aspiring actress received an invitation a year before graduating from the studio school.

Theater

The creative biography of Lyudmila Dmitrieva began in the penultimate year of the theater university. Artistic director Oleg Efremov invited Lyudmila to the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, offering the main role in his performance.

Until 1990, the artist played more than twenty roles on the stage of the theater. In the production "The Last" based on the novel by Maxim Gorky, she reincarnated as Lyuba, and in the play "Toastmaster" directed by Kama Ginkas she played the bride. Roman Viktyuk staged the play "Husband and Wife Will Rent a Room" on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, inviting Lyudmila Dmitrieva to play the role of Gali.

The artist also has the main role in Yefremov's production of "Nina". Each theatrical work of Lyudmila Borisovna was remembered by critics and spectators for the author's reading and mastery of reincarnation. The genre actress Dmitrieva is organic in all roles: the spiritualized Til-Til in the production of "The Blue Bird", the frivolous maid Sasha in "Summer Residents" and the insidious Sophie Karamzina in "Copper Granny".

In the star troupe of the Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov, Lyudmila Dmitrieva took a worthy place, but because of difficult relations with Efremov, she left the theater after 15 years of work.

Two years later, the actress was invited to the troupe of the Et Cetera theater, created by Alexander Kalyagin. Since 1993 Lyudmila Dmitrieva has been the leading actress of Et Cetera. She is trusted with the widest range of leading roles - from comedic to dramatic. With Kalyagin Dmitriev played in the play "Uncle Vanya", having coped well with the age role of Maria Voinitskaya. According to the actress, Efremov attended the premiere and praised her work in the production.

Then Lyudmila Dmitrieva appeared on the stage of the theater in the performances "The Reluctant Doctor", "An Old Friend is Better than Two New" and "Aunt Melkin's Secret". Bright and characteristic images in the plays of William Shakespeare, Moliere, Alexander Vampilov and Nikolai Ostrovsky brought the artist to the pinnacle of success: in 1998, Lyudmila Borisovna was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and in 2011 she became People's.

Some performances, in which Lyudmila Dmitrieva is involved, have been staged on the stage of Et Cetera for years. "Competition" based on the play by Alexander Galin, where Dmitrieva has the main role, was kept in the theater's repertoire for ten years and was accompanied by sold out houses.

Success accompanied the play "Luciette Gaultier, or Shoot Immediately!", Staged on the stage of the Kalyagin Theater based on Georges Feydeau's comedy. Dmitrieva was offered to reincarnate as Baroness Duverger. Theatergoers and critics noted the lightness and eccentricity with which the actress played. She was applauded for the image of Mavrushi in the tragedy "Death of Tarelkin" and the role of the doge in the production of director Robert Sturua "Shylock". The ease of reincarnation and the exact fit into the image, the drama and tragicomicity that Lyudmila Dmitrieva demonstrates, turned her into the prima of Et Cetera.

Movies

On the set, the actress is no less comfortable than on the theatrical stage, but in the scale of Lyudmila Borisovna's priorities, the theater is in the lead. But such is the magic of the TV screen that widespread fame comes after the appearance “on TV”.

The filmography of the actress opens with a psychological drama directed by Ilya Averbakh "Others' Letters", which was released in 1975. Then the audience saw Lyudmila Dmitrieva in the melodrama "Sentimental Romance", where the main roles went to Elena Proklova and Elena Koreneva. The "second cast" of the film also turned out to be stellar: Lyudmila Gurchenko, Vladimir Basov, Nikolai Karachentsov and Oleg Yankovsky played the supporting roles, in whose brilliant company Dmitrieva also got.

Then the audience saw Lyudmila Borisovna in the fairy-tale film "The Rings of Almanzora" and the adventure melodrama "Take me with you" (the main role).

Glory came to the artist in 1982 with the role of Suzanne Brissard in the detective comedy by Alla Surikova "Look for a Woman". Surikova could not find an actress suitable for the type of "church rat", while the main cast of the film was selected. Lyudmila Dmitrieva turned out to be a godsend for the director. She perfectly "fit" into the star team of Elena Solovey, Alexander Abdulov, Leonid Kuravlev and Sofiko Chiaureli.

After the release of the comedy, the already famous actors woke up megastars. It seemed to Dmitrieva that she “failed” the role and played the worst of all. But soon Lyudmila realized that the eccentric Suzanne Brissard would remain her business card for decades.

According to the artist, "the holiday ended" after the release of Surikova's film: it seemed that the directors had completely forgotten about Lyudmila Dmitrieva. Until the late 1990s, she appeared on screens in episodes. A breakthrough was outlined in 1996, when director Yuri Belenky invited her, Galina Polskikh, Alexander Demyanenko and Maria Aronova to the first Russian sitcom "Cafe" Strawberry ". The comedy series turned out to be a breath of air for actors going through hard times in cinema.

In the new century, the artist was called to serials, the fashion for which began in the mid-1990s. Dmitrieva was seen in the tapes "Goryachev and Others", "Advocate", "District". At the end of the first decade of the 2000s, Lyudmila Borisovna starred in "Kremlin cadets", "Voronins" and "Lavrova's Method".

In 2013, the historical series "Secrets of the Institute of Noble Maidens" was released, where Lyudmila Dmitrieva appeared as a music teacher.

Personal life

Acquaintance with the actor Boris Ardov in the theater studio of the Textile Institute grew into a love story, and the novel ended in marriage. At that time, Boris Viktorovich broke up with his wife Mira Ardova. Mira married Igor Starygin, but maintained friendly relations with her ex-husband and his family. Lyudmila Dmitrieva quickly became friends with the first wife of Boris.

Lyudmila Dmitrieva, in her wildest dreams, did not expect that she would live in the center of the capital, on Ordynka, in the apartment where Anna Akhmatova and Faina Ranevskaya stayed, who loved to visit Dmitrieva's mother-in-law - playwright Viktor Ardov and designer Nina Olshevskaya. A frequent visitor to Ordynka was her husband's half-brother Alexei Batalov with his wife Gitana.

Lyudmila got married in a white suit bought for herself by Mira (or Mika, as her family called her). Daughter Masha Dmitrieva persuaded to give birth to Mika Ardov too. The marriage with the loving Boris Ardov lasted three years: her husband had an affair with Olga Rozovskaya. The couple broke up.

For the second time, Lyudmila Dmitrieva went down the aisle with the decorator Yuri Senchishin, with whom she is happy to this day. At 41, the actress gave birth to a son, Alexei. The children gave Lyudmila Borisovna four grandchildren, whom she adores.

The People's Artist is still in service today. In the theater of Alexander Kalyagin, she plays in the play "Companions" based on the play Galina. The premiere took place ten years ago, on the eve of the actress's 60th birthday. The role of Alexander Galin was written specifically for Dmitrieva.

In 2017, viewers will see on the screens the premiere of the fantastic melodrama "The Grail", where Dmitrieva got a supporting role.
