Lucelia Santos is an actress who starred in The Slave of Isaura, the first soap opera shown in the Soviet Union. Telenovella enriched the Russian language with the word fazenda, and the name of Lucelia's character became a household name and partially replaced Pope Carlo in the idiom, meaning grueling daily labor.
