Louis Franck

Louis Franck is a musician and artist, who became famous for his participation in the Ukrainian alternative rock band Esthetic Education. In addition to his musical activities, Louis became famous on television screens as an actor, screenwriter and director.

Louis Alfred Frank was born in Zurich on December 28, 1971. His father Eric made a living by reselling various artworks, later concentrating on photography. The mother of the future musician and filmmaker Iness worked in the field of PR at the world famous Sotheby's auction. Louis received his profile education in Moscow, studying at the Moscow Art Theater. 

Actually, it was there that he demonstrated the makings of a genius actor: after one of the performances of Anouilh's L'Alouette, where Frank was assigned the role of King Charles VII, one of his teachers, People's Artist of the USSR Oleg Tabakov, christened him “Black Swan”.

After completing his studies at the Moscow Art Theater, Louis leaves for the American continent, where he studies directing in Pittsburgh and works for the Canadian advertising company "Cossette", while doing acting and directing at the theater in Montreal. In the same place, Frank creates the Ensemble Sauvage Public troupe, combining the acting role with the work of the composer.

At the beginning of the XXI century, Louis Frank lives and works in Moscow, doing fashion photography. In 2002, an event took place, which served as the impetus for the creation of their own musical project: during this period the famous Ukrainian group "Ocean Elzy" came to Moscow on a tour. Frank helps the team with filming the video for the song "Friend" and along the way gets closer to two musicians of the band, Dmitry Shurov and Yuri Khustochka. 

The musicians gladly accept Louis' offer to write soundtracks for Frank's second film, Martha. Then the trio thought about creating their own group. Dmitry and Yuri leave Okean Elzy in order to surprise the audience with their own creativity soon.

The "Esthetic Education" group was released in 2004. The musicians clearly assigned roles among themselves: Khustochka became a bass player, Shurov took a place at the keys, and Louis Frank became the vocalist of the project. The band is considered Ukrainian and is based in Kiev. In parallel with the development of the group, Frank completed the work and released the film Martha. "Esthetic Education" has been capturing the hearts of their fans since December 2004, when their first album, Face Reading, was released.

The popularity of "Esthetic Education" has grown every year. In 2005, the group's second album was released. In 2007, "Esthetic Education" again surprised the public by presenting the band's next album in theatrical style. The performance took place in the abandoned "Green Theater", which after this performance gained wild popularity. The forgotten gallery "Mystetskiy Arsenal", where the group presented its project "Antenna", took as a basis the Argentine silent film of the same name, adding its own music to it.

However, after 2008 the activity of "Esthetic Education" began to decline. There were practically no new works released, and in 2009 Shurov left the project and founded his own group. In 2011, the group ceased to exist, and Frank took a creative break for two years in order to return later.

2013 was marked by the start of a new project by Louis Franck, which was named "ATLANTIDA". The group was engaged not only in music, but also combined a huge number of areas of art, including literature, theater, cinema and much more. The first self-titled album of the new band was released in the winter of 2013 and combined a wide variety of music: from Soviet times to modern styles. 

On September 12 of the same year, Frank's new project gave a concert at the Jazz Koktebel, which attracted at least 1,500 fans, and the presentation of the group took place only a little less than a week later.

At the moment, Frank's group has already released 2 albums, and in 2015 Louis himself took part in the filming of Alexei German Jr.'s film "Under the Electric Clouds", where he played one of the main roles, along with Chulpan Khamatova, Merab Ninizde, Anastasia Melnikova and other famous Russian actors.

Louis Frank is happily married to actress Dina Korzun. The couple met in their student years at the Moscow Art Theater courses. After Frank's return to Russia in 1998, relations broke out with lightning speed. Later, Frank and Korzun will play an impromptu wedding in Yugoslavia, where Louis filmed his first film "Painting", and in 2001 the couple officially signed in Geneva.

Dina Korzun is a well-known and sought-after Russian actress who was already married before her marriage to Louis. From her first husband, Korzun has a son, whom the girl brings up together with Louis. Also, the Frank-Korzun couple have two children of their own: a daughter and a son.
