I fell in love with Kuklin's biathlon at school. Although the city did not have a complex with shooting ranges and roller tracks, there was an asphalt track and a shooting range. By the next season, Kuklina had the undeniable status of the first number of the junior team. However, during this period in her career, not everything went as smoothly as before. During training, the girl was seriously injured, so she could not get to the world and continental championships. However, timely treatment and rehabilitation restored Larisa's former confidence and place among the best. Having returned to duty in the spring of 2011, the biathlete quickly made up for lost time, becoming the absolute winner of the Russian junior competitions.

In the category of adult athletes, Kuklina began performing at the end of the 2010/2011 season, and she immediately manages to take 7th place in the Russian championship in the marathon race, which is very good for a former junior. However, a new injury prevented him from performing from the beginning of the next races. For the first time after treatment, the girl managed to go on the ski track only in January 2012, she immediately began to train hard. This allowed her to take 3rd place in the overall standings of the Russian Cup.

In the same year, under the guidance of coach Leonid Guryev, Larisa is a member of the youth team and immediately wins 1st place in the relay and individual race at the Russian Summer Biathlon Championship.

At the first stage of the IBU Cup in the 2012/2013 season, which was held in Idra, Sweden, the girl took only 9th place in the sprint, but managed to show the best result already in the second stage, winning bronze in the individual race and silver in the sprint. And in the next two seasons at the IBU biathlon competitions, she took only one silver medal, and also received bronze medals at the Universiade in 2013.

Due to pregnancy and childbirth, Kuklina took a break for a while, but having quickly recovered, she soon returned to sports. Already in 2016, she took 9th place in the pursuit and 8th in the sprint at the Summer World Championships in Otepää.

In the personal life of the Russian athlete, everything is fine. In the spring of 2014, Larisa married a Russian skier, a native of the city of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Kuklin. The wedding was played in the hometown of the girl's spouse, and they chose the hot Dominican Republic for the honeymoon.
